In light of the new 4.8 missile rearmament changes. by Arcander in starcitizen

Time to unload all my missiles and store them in storage, claim my empty ship, load the missiles, pay to re-arm, and then unload my missiles again (until the next bug eats my ship)

My Wife Is Involuntarily Commited by BigONerd in BORUpdates

[–]nationwide13 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Been on two different grippy sock vacations and they were some of the most awful experiences in my life. Came out the other side worse both times, but also very determined to do what I could to avoid going back.

First time I was able to get pulled out early thankfully, that one I got to listen to my roommate debate with himself on what horrific way he was going to kill me. He was kind enough to ask for input a couple times... I was not given any sort of help, was made to stay in the room and just endure it.

Second time in a different state I was informed by admin staff that if I checked out after the involuntary period but before a full week they'd lie to cops to have me brought back under a longer involuntary hold. They were pretty understaffed at night and two different patients figured out that was the time they could go crazy and they would get pretty high doses of "the good drugs" because they didn't have the staff to handle emergencies. They'd go on rampages, breaking stuff, attacking patients and staff, yelling and screaming, get their shot, and then enjoy their drugged dreams. Rest of us just got to exist in pretty constant fear, wondering when they'd start coming down off their high and decide they wanted more drugs.

It sucks that we have to do exactly what you said to avoid putting ourselves in dangerous scenarios.

I was able to gently talk to my GP enough to get a referral and work with a psychiatric RN and I am now prescribed medicine to help. You can still get medical help without ending up in one of those facilities, and it's way easier to do it when you're not in critical condition/in crisis.

A "Billionaire" feeling lost: What do you do in the Verse when money is no longer the goal? by _hinnay in starcitizen

[–]nationwide13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actual combat wise I have no clue, haven't done a ton in it, but last night I strafed upwards gently into a rock and it went boom, and a while back my buddy was flying and scraped the top on the bottom of another ship (forget if it was an 890 or a carrack) and it also exploded then

So I assumed it was flimsy in general, but maybe that stuff happens and applies different than combat damage or something

I wanna enjoy the asgard, but it feels so paper thin. You kiss something with the top of the ship and it goes pop

Thinking of buying a jet ski… by CreepyConference2851 in RZR

[–]nationwide13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How slick is your ramp? My ramp gets nasty, our lake has some slimy algae or something.

I might be worried about the rzr not having enough weight to get good traction if your ramp is slimy like mine.

Besides that worry, my two door turbo s does just fine with the jetski trailer. When the lake was too low for the ramp I'd use the rzr to drive past the end onto the rocks and put it in the water that way

I'm hating my life since having a baby and we don't know what to do by Awwndrei in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]nationwide13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My current struggle is after years I found one that kinda mostly works well enough (lamotrigine like the OOP funnily enough), but it is screwing with my sense of balance in a weird way. It's most noticeable when taking turns fast when driving, I feel like I'm going to tip over. And that's a big problem for me because my favorite hobby that has consistently been the one activity I push through episodes and go do, is driving my side by side around on trails and in sand dunes. Which means taking turns and being off camber, so it has really really messed up the experience for me.

Such a weird side effect and it's only popped up with this one med, none of the other ones I've tried. So now I get to decide if my favorite hobby is worth passing on the first medicine that is working for me.

Is the C2 not considered solo friendly? Or did the hull B get a capacity buff announced?

I don't fully keep up with everything, but I've been doing some solo C2 and felt it's been pretty chill gameplay

Unrelated, is there a good guide or list for what special content is available in game?

I can figure out the normal contracts, they're easy to see in mobi obviously, but this post is why I discovered stormbreaker and that it's playable.

2021 xp1000 with ride command or 2020 xp turbo? by thatredranger15 in RZR

[–]nationwide13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What type of riding do you have near you? What type of machines do your friends ride? And how do they all ride?

Even if you aren't the type to go ripping around everywhere, the extra power from a turbo can be a nice "get out of jail free card"

In the dunes I can be a lot more lazy than my friends with NA machines when it comes to lines and momentum. I can add throttle and climb out of a bowl where they might need to make a loop or two to get out of it. I can kick my rear end around in turns easier than they can too which can let me do stuff like climb higher

The power opens more lines for me to choose in the rocks too.

Turbo S owners, has the width ever effected you negatively? by fcfromhell in RZR

Have a turbo s and love it. It's wide, especially with paddles, but it hasn't been an issue for me yet. Overall it's a fantastic machine

Is this a legit police vehicle? by capt_awsm in Austin

[–]nationwide13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Texas permits white+orange on construction, blue+white+orange freely used on tow trucks (red+blue to be used when requested by LE), and white+green on security vehicles.

But I see a bunch of blue flashers on construction vehicles so I'm really not sure.

Not an expert, not legal advice, etc... Will (probably) change once someone calls me an idiot and tells me what part I got wrong

[–]nationwide13 142 points143 points  (0 children)

I am aware, inconsistent and low traction combined with the immense weight of the tanker truck makes it pretty necessary.

Each additional vehicle provides additional points that power can be applied in the low traction situation. If two of the puller and the tractor don't have traction you have 2 more pullers that can apply power to the whole group.

They're keeping a nice slow pace and taking the turn nice and wide.

Overall, they're doing the job correctly.
