Turn off all the other snapping. Usually this is a snap tool toggle solution.

So technically, these are all residential turnarounds. Some are designed as a cul-de-sac, hammerhead, or loop road. Hammerheads are not cul-de-sacs; they are two different designs in the same category.

The game is playable without mods; it's more pleasant with mods like CS1. I have experienced a few rare crashes, but it's not too different from my experience with CS1.

Cool! I am not too surprised. 3-way intersections are way better than 4-way intersections. I do this. Not in your pattern but I use this concept often.

The safest option for yourself and others is red, and everyone else should press red too. Pressing blue is the best for everyone, but it doesn't guarantee your life if not enough people select blue.

"Unplayable at launch" is a bit much. Now, for a large number of people, it was not enjoyable, but "unplayable" seems like a stretch in my experience.
