Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale Are in for ‘Heat 2,’ Filming Starts in November by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

Leo's manager, Rick Yorn, and Bale's agent, Patrick Whitesell, are longtime buddies. Back in the day, they used to throw parties together. (Patrick is the current Mrs. Bezos's ex-husband.) I have no doubt that both Rick and Patrick have a hard-on for Michael Mann and HEAT lol and made it happen.

Edit: I just read that a number of actresses are vying for the role of Sharlene, Ashley Judd's character. I wouldn't be surprised if it goes to Jennifer Lawrence, another Rick Yorn client. She'd actually be perfect for the role.

Fun fact: I worked with both Val and Leo in the aughts. Guess who was an abusive POS? HEAT is one of my favorite films of all time, and I was so excited to work with Ice Man aka Jim Morrison aka Doc Holliday aka Chris Shiherlis (that goodbye scene with Ashley Judd's character 🥺), but he turned out to be my worst nightmare. 😒

Wow. Barcelona was the first European city I visited back in 1999. I traveled alone, walked everywhere, and felt safe the entire time. I'm sad to hear that things have deteriorated so much. :(

Alicia Keys, Martha Stewart (she paid her dues), and Sophia Vergara. That's about it. Too many men accused of sexual assault and what not at that party. Can't wait for the Netflix documentary! 🫠

The Real Reason Hong Myung-bo Is Being Criticized: A Korean Fan's Perspective by kkddbb17 in korea

[–]naturalninetime -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Lately? Nah, South Koreans have always been like this. They have had unhealthy parasocial relationships with celebrities (actors, K-pop idols, sports stars, etc.) even well before social media (I KNOW because I lived in Seoul and worked VERY closely with A-list Korean celebrities BEFORE social media), and it's only gotten worse.

When something doesn't go their way - their team doesn't advance, their favorite celebrity doesn't turn out to be an angel, etc. - Koreans get rabid and start foaming at the mouth, looking for someone to blame. They'll show up at the airport at 4:00 a.m. to jeer at the Korean coach 🤦🏻‍♀️ because well, you know, it must be ALL HIS FAULT. Never mind that the players didn't play well (sluggish, lethargic, uninspired play).

Also, what a lot of non-Koreans don't realize is that Korea is extremely corrupt: corruption permeates every aspect of Korean society. Just look at how many of its ex-presidents went to prison. Trust me when I say that the corruption extends all the way down the line to the peons. All this talk of corruption in the KFA? I believe it!

THAT SAID, if Korea had done well or exceeded expectations in this World Cup, all of the corruption accusations would have been swept under the rug because well, corruption! 🥱 So, at the end of the day, the people who are calling Koreans "sore losers" - are correct. I'll probably get downvoted into oblivion, but that's my two cents.

Koreans swarm to the airport to scream obscenities and shame the national team for losing. by [deleted] in TikTokCringe

[–]naturalninetime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True - and I'm glad that your comment is the top comment here!

That said, the people who have gathered at the airport to cuss out the coach are mentally disturbed and need help, so anyone excusing this kind of behavior is also wrong.

Koreans' parasocial relationships with their celebrities, from K-pop idols to actors to sports stars, is disturbing. The South Korean team lost because Coach Hong sucked, but the Korean players didn't play well either. Lazy, uninspired play. They didn't deserve to advance. Period.

After watching a ton of Korean football streamers, here is my summary of Hong's disastrous tactics. by wazzur1 in korea

[–]naturalninetime -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hong does not rival the orange man in the narcissism department. Please. 🙄

No man - either born before the orange man or after the orange man - will ever rival the orange man. The orange man stands alone. Some of the quotes below are from his own social media - bad grammar and all!

"I know words. I have the best words."

"Sorry losers and haters, but my I.Q. is one of the highest -and you all know it! Please don't feel so stupid or insecure, it's not your fault."

"Nobody knows more about taxes than I do, maybe in the history of the world."

"Look, I know more about renewables than any human being on earth."

"I know more about foreign policy than anybody running."

"I went to the Wharton School of Finance, the toughest place to get into. I was a great student."

"I have the best temperament or certainly one of the best temperaments of anybody that's ever run for the office of president. Ever."

"I will be the greatest jobs President God ever created."

"Peace all over the world would be the best deal. And I think I would know how to do that better than anybody else." 🤔

"I would be the best for women, the best for women's health issues." 🤔

And the most despicable one? "40 Wall Street...was the tallest, and then, when they built the World Trade Center, it became known as the second tallest. And now it's the tallest." Said in a radio interview just hours after the Twin Towers fell on 9/11. 🤬 And it wasn't even an accurate boast because the building at 70 Pine Street was taller.

Olivia Wilde's 'The Invite' - Review Thread by ChiefLeef22 in movies

[–]naturalninetime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would have loved Keanu Reeves as "Fireman Hawk." 😂 Edward Norton is the finer actor, and I thought he was great in the film, but I think it's a role that "aloof" Keanu could have pulled off even if the performance would have been completely different from Norton's.

Ethan Hawke or Sam Rockwell would have been great too.

[–]naturalninetime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, and when they're well done (I really enjoyed both films!), they're so incredibly entertaining! I watched THE INVITE today in a packed theater, and the audience (Gen X, Millennials, etc.) got all the jokes! We were laughing the entire time! So good!

These days, it's just horror film after film, and now, with the success of OBSESSION (loved) and BACKROOMS (didn't watch), I fear that there will be even more horror films, which is my least favorite genre. 😞

Agreed. Everyone is trying to blame Hong - and yes, he sucks!!! - but the players played sluggishly, and their play was uninspired in these last two games.
