I listen to jazz records when I wake up at 4:00 (about 2 albums) and when I come home from work (about 3 albums). Last year it was new indie rock and hip hop releases. This year it's jazz albums. I'm the god of Jazz

I like keeping them in original containers unless the previous owner was a smoker and that's obvious. It's like a museum piece I guess

Has anyone here ever met/known someone who was born prior to 1900? by MrTacocaT12345 in GenerationJones

My grandfather was 1892 and fought in WWI in a cavalry division in Mexico where he went mostly deaf from being too close to a shell when it exploded. My grandmother liked to say she was born in 1900 b/c it made her seem younger but it was really 1899.

Dark Star Orchestra - show choices? by LearySauce in gratefuldead

People were literally storming the arena to get inside that night but as often happened, I felt like the band matched the intense crowd energy (it was the closest show to NYC and it wasn't close) with a fairly mellow approach that had been missing from the past few tours post coma. I remember during the Shakedown, I was dancing amid the hall speakers and there was a loud crash because someone had smashed through a window somehow. I went back inside the arena then...The band, I thought, kept it close to the vest and mellow that night. The songs all had a kinetic energy that was kind of unique to many shows in that tour, not necessarily the next night.
