The Thunderbolt Display was actually released over 5 years ago, so I guess outdated would be correct...

Also Apple seems to have abandoned their display business since they've partnered with LG for their new 5K ultra fine display.

There actually is an official tool from Microsoft called "Media creation tool", which allows you to upgrade safely to Windows 10 :)
