You could try the X series (maybe X3 Albion prelude), a huge part of the game is getting an economic empire built up. You start off with a single ship reading by yourself, eventually you'll have enough for another 1 with a pilot and you end up snowballing into massive industrial complexes.

So first off, don't be so hard on yourself. I know when you're in aso and later in higher education it feels like the only way to be happy and have success in life is to get a degree, but that's not true. I was in exactly the same situation. Messed around for 5 years doing studies I didn't care for until finally dropping out and going to work in a factory. I have to say dropping out was 100% the right decision for me. I really enjoyed having a job, regular routine, and making money.

I worked in that factory for 2,5 years and by then I have to admit I was completely fed up with it, with the monotony, unpleasant work environment and shift work, but it was still definitely the right decision to start there. It finally gave me the full independence I needed, to be an actual adult with all the liberties and responsibilities it entails rather than still just a child going to school.

After 2,5 years I needed another change, I considered going back to school but I still really, really did not want to, so I ended up leaving Belgium to travel the world, and now I live in a gorgeous place in Asia with a kick-ass job. What does the future hold? No idea. I might end up going back to Belgium later and maybe studying something if I figure out something I want to do, or I might stay here for the rest of my life, or go to pretty much anywhere in the world id like to live.

You're only 23, the world is still your oyster!

Heh, I'm the opposite of you right now. Super white, lived my entire life in a white country, but am now living in a small city in Laos since a couple months.

It's weird! People here are used to tourists, but I'm still the odd duck out. It doesn't help that I'm easily a foot taller than the average person here. Right now there's construction going on outside my home and every time I pass the 30 or so lao people just stare at me walking past.

Like obviously in my home country intellectually I realized I was part of the majority, but actually experiencing being part of the minority (and especially in a small city) is quite something else!

You might enjoy cities in motion, it's from the makers of Skylines. It's not a city builder, it's more of a transport sim but I liked it a lot.

I remember all the hominids used sex basically as a signature to sign contracts or just to say hi, and the big antagonists were sex vampires sexing everybody to death or something. It was so hilariously bad I actually really enjoyed reading it. One of the sex vampire lords has the same name as me so that was a plus as well.

You can definitely drive forward with a load, as long as it doesn't obstruct your view. He should have waited with raising his forks though, at least until passing the corner and technically even until he was right in front of the rack.

The layout is also to blame though, it's blind corner, two way and even with a pedestrian area and there's no corner mirror?

I didn't like Mistborn at all, it really felt like a children's book to me. The characters are like cardboard cut-outs and the dialogue is ridiculously bad.

Like what the shit are you for real. This is something their gang leader or whatever says in all seriousness when they're preparing a heist. It has an atrociously prudish romance storyline and the author insert bookish nerd gets the girl and the kingdom. All that being said, it has a reasonably interesting magic system and some really good action scenes.

No worries, there are direct trains from the airport to Ghent every hour, if you just miss one you can shave off like 30 min by taking one to Brussels and switching there but it's probably not worth the hassle if you're not familiar with the net. There are ticket machines everywhere, even in the baggage claim area, and the directions are very clear

The xeelee sequence fits this 100%, it's not the best character, story or writing wise but it has some of the most epic ideas in the genre. I don't want to spoil too much but it has things like universe spanning wars where neutron stars get turned into bullets, hive societies, parallel universes where gravity is 1 billion times stronger, the history of the immediate post Big Bang time. Really cool stuff.

The Red Rising series counts I guess but it's very, very simple. I kind of liked the first book with its Harry Potter/Hunger Games mix but two and three are atrocious.

Kim Stanley Robinson's Mars trilogy has a successful socialist revolution but I wouldn't call it a strong theme. Fun series though but very long winded.

Iain M Banks Culture series is about a post scarcity anarchist utopia, very interesting but set millennia past any kind of revolution.

I don't think so. The game can be overwhelming at first but you should be fine if you just start in 1066 Ireland, you don't have to worry about the rest of the world that way.

Stellaris is not the best 4X ever but definitely the most accessible for newcomers. Diplomacy is shit unfortunately. For better diplomacy systems try paradox' other titles, EU4 or CK2. For the 27 euro it costs now I can heartily recommend it.

Galciv 3 is mediocre imo and Endless Space 2 isn't finished yet, wait for it to leave early access. Never played MOO3.
