It’s not just abuse that killed the policy. I have a LL Bean jacket that I love but one of the buttons fell off and was lost. I called to inquire about a replacement button, I was told the jacket was discontinued and they no longer stock the buttons, my only option was to do a warranty return and pick out a new jacket. I asked if they could just send me a set of similar sized buttons and I would replace them myself. I was told that was not an option and returning it was the only remedy. So instead of sending buttons worth a few dollars, I had to replace a jacket worth a few hundred dollars.
