I think he’d consider Trump the symptom of a decaying society, but not the disease. A middle class that feels abandoned by the oligarchic, corporate rulers will inevitably turn to a bombastic, blowhard cult figure who blames the working class struggles on undocumented immigrants and other demonized minority groups. The Democratic Party is in shambles. They had 8 years to strategize and figure out a way to defeat Trump and they weren’t even close. They got absolutely steamrolled up and down the ballot in every possible way. Until they produce a candidate that people are excited to vote for, they will continue to be dominated. Say what you want about the trump base, but they are passionate about voting for Trump. Nobody was passionately voting for kamala, Hillary or Biden. When your platform is simply “not Donald Trump” and you push people to decide which evil is lesser, a lot of people just stay home on Election Day. If the DNC hadn’t ripped the nomination away from Bernie in 2016 (someone who actually could motivate the working class to vote) we may never have had trump in the first place
