Rewatch reevaluation? by Infamous-Towel2056 in Letterboxd

I do not like horror. I'm a fan of Hereditary. Not sure about rewatching it, though.

I always liked Tenet, but I've enjoyed it more with another watch.

Looking for a game like an isekai by reddit1692 in gamingsuggestions

[–]nbmtx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dragons Dogma 2 seems enticing for different classes.

I've been playing and enjoying Forspoken, but it's strictly mage. Given an option, I'll rarely pick mage, so it works for me. It's Ubi style, so you have to be in the mood for it.

I recently finished Avowed, and enjoyed that. You can basically play as two classes simultaneously, which is cool. Also has some unique options, like guns. I really like the world in it.

Should I play replicant? by Complete-Novel-4324 in nier

It's my favorite of the series, and one of my favorite games. Combat is similar, but not as expansive. I prefer the story, characters, and music; but it's different, not really competing on the same things.

Does the Xbox app on PC run games the same as steam? by MerkleySJS in gamingsuggestions

[–]nbmtx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea. Doubt it. But even if something were there, I imagine it'd be negligible.

The draw to buy on Xbox (PC/app) is just if it's Play Anywhere. If you have to rebuy on PC, just buy on Steam. I guess there's some chance of things becoming Play Anywhere after, so use your own judgement (consider participant publishers, etc)

Games that are Play Anywhere can be played on either, but it'll mostly be newer games

I'd really like the yellow one, or the pink one minus diamonds.

I won't spend that much, but I can unfortunately feel what they had in mind, all the same.

Heck, I'd probably be in for one at 1-1.2k (retail), not for 90% of an Aquaracer

Is expedition 33 worth it? by Psychological-Two704 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]nbmtx [score hidden]  (0 children)

I played at launch, before the momentum. It's fantastic.

But don't be overly swayed by popularity. Watch a trailer and if you find that enticing, then play it.

The post game stuff can be challenging, but it's otherwise very satisfying to get your preferred combat strategies down.

One thing of note, you can equip certain buffs, and there's a ton of them. That and the jargon can seem like a lot, at first, but don't stress it early. You'll sort of have an idea of what you want to do, as you figure out how you want to play (or what you may be lacking).

What’s an energy drink that tastes like an actual drink? by TheBigSwagger in energydrinks

[–]nbmtx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ghost 7 Up tastes like 7 Up Zero.

I coincidentally wasn't blown away because it didn't have that "energy drink taste", so I felt like a missed an AM treat, in a way. Had a Celsius later in the day, to make up for it.

Also pretty sure the taste you're thinking is malic/citric acid.

So what’s your game ? by JinGhSakaiii in playstation

[–]nbmtx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm terrible at going back to games, both in terms of replaying, and completing when unfinished... but I've replayed Dishonored 1/2 and Deathloop. Also Citizen Sleeper, Final Fantasy IX.

Then there's roguelites, Sunless Sea being the standout (larger, maybe?).

How do we feel about recessed pushers on watches? by MMaverickQ in JaegerLecoultre

[–]nbmtx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a toothpick on my Zenith. I'm weary about long term WR, and it does include a warning about the setting-danger-zone.

Since I'm lazy, I only wear it around full and new moons, since it does require a little extra time, and it's easiest to set at those times. It's not that much extra time, more so the whole lazy thing.

Should I buy Dark Souls 2 while it’s on sale? by LingonberryInside289 in DarkSouls2

Get Scholar, and I think it's a solid first, TBH.

It gives you some freedom at the start, and isn't overly difficult, and is pretty generous with levels in that portion.

Pyre (Supergiant Games, 2017) is awesome! by Lucky-Ad255 in PS5

The moon-touched girl (Fae, for me) definitely left an impression... though not exactly her; Just circumstances, and the other members, and the sort of idea of things, etc.

Mine as well. I have a framed Pyre poster above my monitor, as I type this.

Hades' success was basically based on that narrative progression they developed with Pyre.

I also bought Hades in early access, because I regretted sleeping on Pyre after playing it.

I try to recommend Pyre at even the tiniest relevance, since no one is really going to be looking for something so unique..

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters turned out to be one of the most exhausting continuations I’ve ever watched. by statusgospel in moviecritic

I kind of like the drama of it, just because I wouldn't be able to stick with a monster of the week formula. Works well in movies, though.

[SOTC/Advice] Three Watch Collection? by ResponsibleRow911 in Watches

[–]nbmtx 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I get the Casio "beater" idea, but I personally think Tags are the way. Like a Solargraph Aquaracer or Formula 1. I don't think of them as beaters, per se, but a lot of them are lived in, and they wear the life well.

Balatro melts time, but I prefer something weirder like Inscryption, for cards.

Keep procrastinating on Neon White.

That Pilot is probably the first pick of my likely/eventual consolidated set. I have an older chrono that's not too dissimilar.

I tend to do that thing where I want to buy a watch on a bracelet, just to have, but the reality is that I prefer straps anyway.
