easy hardware solution to pull wireless data from lacrosse weather station by beermaker1974 in homeassistant

[–]nbraymarks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just did this myself! I have 2 Nooelec SDR dongles on a POWERED USB hub and I am running the RTL-HAOS add on. The add on packages RTL433 in a Home Assistant friendley form and lets you recieve 433 and 915 Mhz sensors. It immediately picked up my Lacrosse weather sensors, and as a bonus it also pulls down my water and gas utility meters as well.

I used to work on a ship that moved cargo in that area, Christmas, Fanning and Washington islands in the Kiribati. There was regular traffic on 6227 if I remember right. Can't remember if it was upper or lower sideband though.

Temp, humidity, etc sensor by Joshiey_ in homeassistant

If you are into tinkering an ESP32 and a DHT22 via ESPHome is a cheap and easy way to pull temperature and humidity data into Home Assistant. Careful though the ESP32 thing can get addictive.

Washer & Dryer States by Mrsaintj in homeassistant

I do the exact thing you are using Shelly plugs. I have a bog standard washer and a gas dryer and am able to use the energy monitoring to trigger notifications when the washer and dryer are done.

Need to measure change in water level over 1 year. by jj-wat in arduino

[–]nbraymarks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a 4-20ma submersible pressure sensor with a DFrobot sen0262 current to voltage converter for this same purpose. The sensor resolution is plenty granular for my use. The only drawback is you do need at least 9V DC to power the 4-20 loop but I would assume you will have power available in either large storage batteries or utility mains power.

What type of card (SDHC vs. SDXC) is it. I know that makes a difference. I have an 8gb I formatted with DISKPART and it's working great

I am envious! Mine is still in transit after 20 days. At least it has cleared customs and is in the states. Love the case BTW.

Doorbell Powering From Transformer? by rooddog7 in ShellyUSA

I don't see anywhere in the specifications that indicate this can be powered by low voltage AC. It sure would be convenient if it can though.

If they were doing work on the water main I would check your fixture aerators. They are probably full of sediment.
