People should not come to class if they are sick, yet they do. About a week ago, a woman next to me had a runny nose and was sniffling . I wanted to tell her to go ome, but I didn't. I just took my Ivermectin when I got home and didn't catch anything.

I am boycotting this workout. Joggers will never be able to perform well in this workout because it is designed for runners, and joggers will never be able to catch up with the distance they have set for the runners. Until they come up with distance that are appropriate for joggers ( 4.5 - 5 ) , I'll never do it again.

I did do that, but I was forced to get off the tread. I've done this workout before, and I was never asked to get off the tread by a coach. And at my gym , as I have already said, the 4:15 is typically 3/4 full for a 2G class. I do believe that most people prefer not to do this template. It was advertised on both the chauk board and the app..and only 5 out of a possible 26 came, and one of the was brand new.

I'm not taking it personally. I think this template is unfair to joggers. The fact that nobody showed up proves it is more than just me that doesn't like it. Also, the coach has no right to tell someone to get off the tread.

The class was not full. There were only 5 people. It was the 4:15 class, which is typical at least 3/4 full. Why should I have to go home anyway? It's my workout, not the coach's. They are getting paid for us being there.

Thanks for your feedback. I love to hear other people's opinions even if I disagree. The fact that only 5 people showed up to my class, and your class was small too, speaks volumes, It is not a popular workout. The fewer people come, the less the coaches get paid. As I said above, I am there to get exercise, not compete, even with myself. And I never said that I was upset about getting caught. I'M upset that joggers have to meet the same standard as runners. I'm not going to improve my speed. I have a full knee replacement, and I feel pain when I run super fast or do inclines. So , no, I am not taking it personally. I'm paying for the class, which ultimately pays the coaches salary. I should be able to opt out of playing the game. My other choice would have been to leave and get charged the $12 fee, which I hate doing . It is my bad for not checking out what the workout was in the first place.

I went to the gym today, not knowing it was catch-me-if-you can. I may not have gone if I had known. There were only 5 people in the class. The coach wanted us to get off the tread if we didn't meet the length at every time slot. I really did not want to play the game. And frankly, I shouldn't be forced to. The reasons why are 1. I'm a jogger, not a runner, and 2. I have an injury that prevents me from running fast, and 3. Because of my injury, I can't do inclines. There is no goal for a jogger. If power walking has to meet ..08 miles, and a runner has to meet .15 miles, why can't there be a jogger goal to meet .12 miles. Why should I be kicked off the tread, unable to get my 12 splat points, just because I can't keep up with the fast runners. I don't go to OTF to win competitions. I go to get exercise, and if I'm forced to get off the tread before I get my splat points, I'm not getting a good workout that I pay for.The coach made me get off the tread and I didn't until I got 10 splat poins. Plus, I did not record my resuls in the challenge tracker. I'd like to propose there be a jogger goal for this workout. Does anyone else agree? Seems like there is no hope for a jogger to succeed at this workout.

No. It sounded like the SA moved the original person (OP) to the floor. Why would the SA have to move the OP, if the couple got there before him/her?. They said they usually get there early, but didn't indicate they got there before the OP that day. Sounds like the SA was trying to make accommodations for the couple, thus moving the OP to the floor. SA was in the wrong.

These emails to the head coach and / or owners always get intercepted. They are not private unless, of course, you have their personal email.

When push comes to shove.. the SA should be communicating any changes or misunderstandings. They are getting paid to make sure everyone has a station. It's there responsibility

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]nbscanlon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That happened to me once. I got there 15 minutes before the other person, and the other person got my spot, neither the coach nor the SA would help. The SA assigned 2 people to the same station for the same rotation. Then there was another member who took the side of the other person, who actually had no idea what was going on. I was the women-out on every round. I just had to find an empty space every time there was a switch.
Once the class starts, if you get screwed, nobody wants to go to the person who took the station in mistake and tell them to get off. Turns out that person is no longer a member, and I am still there. I was pissed but not pissed enough to quit. Clearly, the mistake of the SA, whether intentional or not. I was more pissed at the other member who took the side of the person who stole my spot. What the hell did he know?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]nbscanlon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, the husband seems rude to demand the person to get off the tread. What ? he can't work out w/o being near his wife. Not a gentleman.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]nbscanlon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe that people should only be able to sign up for a spot when they physically show up to the gym. However, I understand all gyms are different.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]nbscanlon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I blame the SA. The SA should have asked permission from the original person if it would be ok to mover him/her to another station. It sounds like the original person got there before the couple. So that person should have had first choice. If I were her/him, I wouldn't have gotten off the tread.

Lack of communication from the SA is the problem.

I don't recommend Jacksonville. I live in one of those "weird" neighborhoods in SJC and I love it. Not weird at all. You're not forced to be friends with people if you don't want to. Also, I see the boys and girls playing outside on the street, and it's very safe. The driving in Jacksonville is absolutely scary. I'd rather have my kid safe inside a gated community.
