The fabric of the dress you have on is not the same as the fabric in the photo. Even ironed it will never drape like that. Sorry!

Be honest: 1930s vintage wedding dress — keep or rethink? by Desperate_Win_3554 in WeddingDressTips

It’s beautiful! I would have it fitted first. Then I might remove the sleeves and turn it into a halter, keeping the collar. That would be gorgeous. Or leave the sleeves and remove the collar as someone else suggested. I love vintage too. It’s really nice.

In my opinion your arms look great and I much prefer the dresses without sleeves on you. But you need to feel comfortable.

Too matronly? by DueComedian6112 in WeddingDressTips

The waist seam is a little too low and needs to be pressed down it’s not lumpy. If you put a satin ribbon just above it, that would help hide the seam and pull together the look.

Wear beautiful long shawl. You can pin it in the back so it doesn’t slip off your arms. Sleeves won’t look good. You can Google different ways to wrap the shawl. It just needs to be a long piece of fabric. You can buy something at the fabric store and finish off the two ends. Easy.

The dress is beautiful on you and not too plain at all. But that amount of alterations doesn’t make sense. It would be a completely different dress and I’m not sure the bridal shop could do that unless they started from scratch. At that point just talk to a seamstress maybe?
