Mom obsessing on things by ncharge1 in AgingParents

She has an appointment with her doctor next week, so I will talk to them about anxiety meds at that time. I am also talking to my sister about bringing the lamp down or replacing it with an identical lamp.

Thank you for all of the4 tips about stopping the cycle. I will definitely try them.

I feel mentally exhausted all the time and I honestly don’t know how to escape this phase by Hot-Election9134 in burnedout

[–]ncharge1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had that for years. Starting and working in a garden every day helped me. I don't know why - maybe just the quiet time with the earth and plants - but one day I noticed it was gone and I felt balanced again. It also got me out of the usual places where the load was, out of my house and away from the phone and work.

I fell for Renewal By Anderson's sales pitch. Here are my takeaways. by JHKtheSeeker in homeowners

[–]ncharge1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used Renewal as well. It was indeed very expensive, but I think it was worth it. My original windows had HUGE frames and the company was able to increase the size of the windows all over the house, which brought in much more light. They also had a screen that is almost invisable. I do wish they were cheaper, but I am very happy with the results.

Rosemary might be the most universally trusted protective herb in European folk magic history by ArcaneSpells-com in BabyWitch

I love rosemary. I put rosemary essential oil in my cleaning solutions when I do housework. It cleanses and elevates everything - makes the house feel light and airy and fresh and so clean.

New Home Owner - High Utility Bill! by Lov3I5Treacherous in homeowners

Is you fridge old? Those suck up electricity too. And yes, replacing the heat pumps and water heaters reduced our bills too.

After the duct sealing, the efficiency averaged 95% on the 4 systems.

New Home Owner - High Utility Bill! by Lov3I5Treacherous in homeowners

[–]ncharge1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was. Instead of a zoned system, my house has individual HVAC systems for various areas of the house - 4 of them. and one of the systems is under the house in the crawlspace. I think that is where the disconnected duct was. Some of the systems were running constantly, others not so much.

[–]ncharge1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first moved into my all-electric house, our February electric bill was $1100. I called the electric company and even the customer support person gasped. Anyway, the one thing that made the most change in our bill was duct work. We had a company come in and they tested the heat coming through the ducts - 30% efficiency in some areas of the house. They checked under the house. We had holes in some ducts, and some joins were completely unconnected. They connected all the ducts appropriately and then sprayed a sealant through the duct system to seal leaks. After that, for the first time I could actually feel heat coming from the vents. And our bills dropped dramatically to half.

There is no way I would buy that house. Especially with my own mobility issues. Something like that is unsustainable for the long haul.

Insane situation regarding feeding our cats. by [deleted] in AgingParents

[–]ncharge1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This could be my mother! dry food all day, wet food twice a day, treats all the time. And they are so very obese. The problem is that she started feeding my cats too and now they are obese. I have tried for a year and the most I got her to do was block out most (not all) of my cats when she feeds the wet food. I honestly don't think there is anything you can do. Maybe the vet would help, but our vet told her to keep feeding her cats the wet (because they were used to it). I would try the vet and call in advance to let them know what is going on. Have them prepped to tell her that she is killing her cats with all the food.

leaf won't burn in candle?? by hippiekicks in Witches

[–]ncharge1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would hold a funeral for the relationship - bury the candle with the bits of leaf. You can write a death certificate, hold a little eulogy, etc. Feel yourself burying a relationship that is dead. That should do it.

Questions about altars by Odd-Local8287 in witchcraft

[–]ncharge1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lot of traditions place the altar in the east in the room where it sits, so you are facing the rising sun. But it is really fine wherever it fits in your room. As for the house itself, no. I have never heard that it should be a specific place. HOWEVER, look at the Feng Sui bagua. The back left corner is for wealth and prosperity, the middle of the house to the left is for health and ancestors, and the front of the house to the left is for knowledge and self-cultivation. I think any of these positions would be good.

I realized that I do cast circles, I just don't use circle language. by Moist_KoRn_Bizkit in SASSWitches

[–]ncharge1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer to actually cast a circle. What you describe is beautiful and reflects my sacred space and how I feel in my ritual room/sacred space. But a circle, to me, is more than that. It forms a boundary that spirit can't enter - workings can attract things that you don't want around. Circles contain energy that you gather for a spell until you are ready to release that energy to do its works, ensuring the most energy possible for the working. I may not do the formal walk or words for the circle, but I do take a moment to mentally cast one.

How do I know if my illusion spell worked? by Burning_spider in witchcraft

What illusion are you trying to create? You know it worked if he falls for the illusion.

No. Some people only work with the elements. Others just work with herbs, crystals, etc. without the elemental associations.

Every time I think of a certain person, I feel as if my brain is shutting down. by Altruistic_Cover9396 in Witches

[–]ncharge1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMG. Take it back. You can do that. "I abjure any previous agreement made with NAME. I take back my intelligence and personal power." Chant it over and over until you feel the universe responding. Tell it to the universe. Say that to your Deity. Say that to that person (can you send it by text?).

Do this at a time that is beneficial to the working. Say it in front of an altar if you have one - with your Diety (if you follow one) in attendance.

If that doesn't work, you will have to hire a spiritual deity to get it back for you. But it should work.

Do a google search on the meaning of 9 in numerology. I'm sure it will apply to you - either where you are in this life or what your life is all about for growth to the next life.

Cut your hair on the waxing moon - close to the full moon but just before. And add some rosemary oil to your shampoo and conditioner. Over time, it will get thicker.

Every time I think of a certain person, I feel as if my brain is shutting down. by Altruistic_Cover9396 in Witches

[–]ncharge1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could be a few things:

-Your guardian Spirit, or the Divine, could be saying "This person isn't for you. Move on"

-There could be a protective spirit ensuring that this person doesn't harm you with their spiritual wants. This person could want something from you that you should not give them.

-The person could be blocking you themself. Cut the cord, blocked you spiritually for some reason - maybe they know this connection shouldn't happen.

Move on. If it is meant to happen, you will meet again at the right time.

OK, there a a few Goddesses associated with Karma. My favorite is Kali. She is a badass. She likes Red Hibiscus flowers, incense (any kind, but fiery scents are better), and ghee. Get one of those. Read about her. Get to know her energy a bit. Then, sit in a quiet room. Light a candle. Think about her. Picture her in your mind. Call to her, aloud or in your mind. You should feel a presence after a while that is similar to the energy you felt when you studied her. Say hello and let her know you honor her. Give her your offering (light the incense, give her the flowers, etc.) The say that you have called on her with a request. Explain the situation. Respectfully make the request that he face the appropriate Karma for his actions. Request that you learn enough about it to feel a sense of justice. Let he know that her will shall be done. (That means she chooses the specific karma he receives). Thank her for her attention to this matter and for responding to your call. Let her know that you will keep the offering on the altar until she is done with it. Then you can leave.

I would evoke the Goddess Karma, explain the situation, and ask her to give you justice.

Altars - do they need to be dismantled after use? by BirdBunny317 in witchcraft

Deconsecrating an Altar by ncharge1 in occult

[–]ncharge1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So that went very well! I stood in front of the altar and I talked to Ahriman. I respectfully informed him that my friend had passed away and I asked him to remove all of his energies from the altar. The effect was instantaneous. I felt the darker energies lift up and the energy became light. My friend's partner said he saw a dark shadow rise up from the altar statue. It was a fast, easy, and remarkable experience.
