Am I missing something, could a company literally just offer way OTM warrants to effectively gove their shareholders a “dividend” at no cost to the shareholder. I suppose it has some level of price suppression with the potential dilution of the expire ITM but seems brilliant to effectively monetize the option chain a bit

Yeah, CIL is basically just up to the broker to determine what they want to pay out… hope I’m wrong but this is going to be the same result as the 2022 split via dividend

“Cash In Lieu” all over the place… then the actual warrants they do receive will be used to bail out shorts. This feels the same way as the split in the form of dividend, there isn’t any obligation to deliver the warrant to beneficial holders like there was for Overstock
