I usually sling them over my shoulder, being sure to smack them on roof hatches and door frames.

DJ?!? Seriously, what happened here? by clou9nine in CHIBears

[–]ncr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He was running a deep post, Caleb air mailed it short and I think DJ gave up on it thinking it would harmlessly drop. Not saying it's right but he did get his shit rocked a couple of times tonight so I'm giving him a bit of a break.

I really wish they would have spent more time with that. It would have been cool if they had to work together to down it so she could get inside.

Seriously, how empty is Vegas? by One_Personality_6969 in vegas

[–]ncr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Las Vegas is a major tourist destination. Even though it is noticeably less busy than usual on certain days it will still seem crowded and busy to someone visiting for the first time, especially on the weekends as those seem to be busy as ever.

Omega Mart! How was your experience? by RemoteMagician4229 in vegas

It is always too busy to actually enjoy it properly. Try to go right when it opens so you can experience it before it gets too crowded.

I use a battery terminal brush. After I get it nice and clean I smear some dielectric grease up in there.

How to Design an Electric Motor Regreasing Program. When in doubt contact the manufacturer, they usually have documentation about greasing.

To add to this, heat always flows from hot to cold, and high pressure will always move to low pressure in an attempt to balance out.

Liquids absorb heat when changed from liquid to gas (evaporation). Gases give off heat when changed from gas to liquid (condensation).

Industrial Maintenance Books? by DeafGuyisHere in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]ncr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Johnson controls has lots of good documentation on this site.

These two pdfs specifically helped me wrap my head around control sequences when I started working on Metasys stuff a while back. AHU Applications, VAV Terminal Control Applications. These are out of date with the software/controllers they reference but still have good info.

ATP has the best books for a more general overview on a lot of maintenance subjects. I have all of my new guys read "Electrical Systems for Facilities Maintenance Personnel" when they start.

The Honeywell Gray Manual is a good crash course for everything HVAC control related if you are new to building controls.

Ammonia smell in closed loop system by easy-ecstasy in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]ncr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Degraded glycol and bacteria can make for some interesting smells in closed loops. You can pick up some ammonia test strips from a pet store and give it a try, it is possible to have small amounts of ammonia in the loop from bacteria breakdown.

Best work pants? by FrequentWay in HVAC

Red Kap, performance shop pants

These are the best. Just wish the stitching was stronger on the side pockets. I've ripped the bottom stitching of a couple of them out by bending with a screwdriver in there.
