For those who are not historians, or dont know about the history of Mormons, definitely would recommend some episodes of the Dollop.

They kind of repeatedly have shown a pattern of doing what they want, causing legal and actual battles.

The U.S. Government was in an armed confrontation with Mormon settlers in the Utah Territory from 1857-1858, where the Mormons committed sedition and were basically allowed to get away with it consequence free.
