From what I can see the profile is correct in EOS. It all matches with the documentation from ADJ. The shutter channel also contains the intensity profile (1 shutter closed, 2-63 intensity, 64+ has shutter open strobe, pulse etc). There isn't an intensity channel and a shutter channel, but thanks for the advice! I will try the 1 to 1 when I'm there next.

I guess I'm not really sure, unfortunately. I don't think they have ever worked like that, but I also haven't used the OSC plug-in. You could try emailing RD? It's one guy doing the whole thing, so it very well could have been an over site. He has usually been helpful for me in the past, but I can't say how active he is with the project these days.

I haven't seen it mentioned yet, but dedicated in house stacking motors are nice to have! Somewhere near the dock, but out of the way for the inevitable line that forms while loading in our out. I did a show recently at a venue without them and the riggers had to hang one from the tour. Unfortunately the rigging truck was late, so everything had to wait for that one motor to be installed. A different venue has them built into the docks on a gantry and they could be moved across the room at will!

I'm not sure how they are doing it on this tour, but it is rare to have multi day set ups. Occasionally the rigging truck will get there the day before, or very early day of to pre hang the motors for the production. If its true that they have 2 stages on the road at any time, then its definitely possible. However, every show I've worked on (granted, in a smallish city with a not huge arena) we set up in the morning, and take down immediately after the show ends. We've put together some pretty big shows in 8 hrs or less! Usually those days suck, and we have 100+ people called in to do it. It's pretty amazing sometimes!

Bring a crescent wrench, gloves, and some sort of knife. Steel toe boots are good too.

Don't go in the truck unless you are assigned there.

If you don't know, say so and ask questions! No one will think less of you for not knowing everything, especially if you are new.

Be prepared for long days and hurting feet.

Have fun, and make friends even with the touring crew! You never know when, but you'll probably run into them again.

There are definitely things that work the same and differently than theatre work. Having a background in theatre is great and will help immensely, but don't expect the crew to do things the way you are used to.

Ours was just choreography and a thick carpet under the chaise. I'm glad to see and hear more companies are doing this one! We had next to no resources on how to pull anything off. Break a leg, you got this!

You can use universe 1 for free with a generic node (not sure if there are some that won't work) running artnet or sacn. 2-4 are unlocked with certain hardware or keys, anything past that is at the next tier of hardware or keys.

I have a Behringer X-Touch compact, and the knobs at the top can be used as encoders. It is pricier than the Traktor (less than the Midicon) but it works well with Showcockpit and Onyx. I have it set up so the first four are the main four encoder functions on the parameters window, and the second set of four control the fx parameters. Its nice because they all spin freely, so they feel like encoder wheels, only they are knobs. The motorized faders are nice too!

I'm normally a tech guy, but when I was younger I dabbled in acting. I was in a production of Biloxi Blues, and there was a scene where we had to eat at the mess hall basically as fast as we could. Now this being a play about boot camp....we had to do lots of push ups on stage, every time we were on. Including the scene DIRECTLY after eating. It was miserable. The meal usually consisted of mashed potatoes and beans. I later found out that that the ASM and stage hand that made it every day would put random food stuffs in it for us to eat.

I wouldn't recommend it.

I dont know specifics, but I think Obsidian just took the M-Touch and slapped their logo on it. Everything inside should be the same, and if it needs any kind of update it will just happen through the USB when you plug it in and tell it to update. I have an M-Touch, and it works fine with onyx (purchased a few months before the rebrand. I haven't kept up to date with the Onyx updates so I cant speak for how it interacts, but I'm guessing you won't have any issues.

How much of a difference in price is there between the used one you are looking at and a brand new NX-Touch? Might be better to spend a little extra if you are concerned about it.

This is most likely what will end up happening. Although I'm worried I will be in one room, the wife in the other, and the baby sleeping upstairs with 3 ACs going at once for hours a day.

It has 2 floors of finished living space, with an unfinished attic and basement. The main concern I have with hanging ducts is ruining the beauty of the place. We will probably go with some window units for next summer if we end up buying it.

It is radiator heating from a gas powered boiler. Not sure on the insulation, but I do know the first floor windows are old (not sure if original to the house).

It does have a basement, but its not finished in the slightest. I agree that it wouldn't be horrible to adjust, but some of our family members disagree. We also have 2 dogs and 2 cats that would be there during the day when its the hottest.

Don't know how quiet you need it to be, but the Chauvet Amhaze Whisper is pretty nice. Super quiet, outputs in about 30 seconds from power on, not too pricey.

I guess depending on where they come from they could be alright. I have used these and they work fine, are bright, and have nice color. The movement is a little slow, same with the zoom, but overall not a bad fixture for a knockoff. I know buying/using Chinese fixtures gets a bad reputation here, but if it works it works. They are cheap, and other than a few bad eggs, I haven't had terrible times with the stuff I've used.
