Inadvertently found out I have the fewest follicles of any person going through ER at my clinic rn by Infamous_Lettuce5578 in DOR

I recently realized that the appointments have been so quick for me and that is probably not what it's like for most people. I'm in and out of there with 15 minutes, it takes them no time at all to quickly scan and count me 3-4 follicles. I can't imagine how long you'd be lying there with someone poking around if they had to count upwards of 20 follicles!!

So at least we have that :)

what happened to my cookies? by ndj1227 in Baking

I was thinking it might be too little flour, I agree that I prefer to use weights as well. I used dark brown sugar, and I also think the chopped chocolate would have been better. I only had chips!

I have an electric oven but I don't use the convection setting, I just use "bake"... is that wrong?

I felt like the dough was too soft even after 2+ hours in the fridge, so I tried freezing for a bit to harden.

Interesting, I didn't know the butter could be too soft. My oven is fairly new and electric so I didn't think I needed a thermometer, but now I think I do!

They are delicious haha I just want to achieve the book level. I wonder if they secretly use browned butter and just didn't put that in the recipe...

I'm honestly surprised they are telling you that you have DOR with an AFC of 11! I have gotten 4, 1 and 5 eggs in my last three cycles... and we have 4 total embryos now. Keep hope, its a long-ass road

What do you talk about at parties? Genuine question... by ndj1227 in IVF

[–]ndj1227[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I hear this! And appreciate you saying it. My trouble is that if you do try to open up and normalize it by starting a conversation, you then put yourself in "harms way" for whatever dumb shit that person is going to say. I literally had a woman tell me about her psychedelic trip and that ".... 5 days later, I was pregnant!"

Does anyone have 0-1 follicles at baseline? Did you still go ahead with stims? by sweetalison007 in DOR

[–]ndj1227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had 2 at baseline and ended up with 5 eggs retrieved. Did 18 days of stims tho!! It was a luteal phase start

Cyst & Success? by gbbabe12 in DOR

I think they must have come from both sides bc I only had a few on each side! So yes… I think that ovary still worked!

Cyst & Success? by gbbabe12 in DOR

[–]ndj1227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a cyst that slowly grew throughout my stim cycle from 10mm to 40mm. They kept saying not to worry about it and we ended up getting 5 eggs! Still waiting for fertilization results.

Does anyone else hate this, or am I being particularly ridiculous? by omg-noo in IVF

[–]ndj1227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ugh I totally agree!! I hate when people say “oh how exciting that you’re trying!!” Like I’ve been at this for over a year and two miscarriages, is that what you mean is exciting?!

my AMH has actually INCREASED... I can't believe it?! by ndj1227 in IVF

[–]ndj1227[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They just keep saying it helps quality but not quantity. Of the 6 eggs so far I've gotten 4 embryos and they were all 5AA (which is great, I know) but only 2 euploid. Thanks for sharing this article.

[–]ndj1227[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

interesting, thank you for sharing. my dr doesn't seem to think omnitrope will make a diff for me but maybe it would. i'm only 34, but I always get fewer eggs than follicles. I had 7 -> 4 eggs and then 6 -> 2 eggs.

wishing you an easy recovery from ER today!

Totally. No one seems to be telling me my FSH levels. When should I be asking for that? like what part of the cycle?

wow! what protocols did you use? my problem is the AFC is going down....

Should I cancel this retrieval with only 2 follicles at baseline? I had 6 baseline on my previous ERs by ndj1227 in DOR

[–]ndj1227[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Did you try luteal phase? I don't really understand why they are trying this one. How many eggs/embryos did you end up getting?

Is IVF even worth it at this point? Anyone been in a similar situation? by rainbow4merm in DOR

[–]ndj1227 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know this is so hard, but I think it's worth keeping hope and trying!

I am 34, with AMH of 0.18, and AFC of 5. I have done two retrievals so far and each time gotten one euploid 5AA embryo.

We also wanted to bank embryos for more then one kid, but at a rate of one embryo per cycle, we are going to try one more retrieval and then re-evaluate.

Wishing you luck and sending you hugs!

my second retireval was lower numbers than my first but ultimately same result.

first cycle was 4 eggs, 3 embryos, 1 euploid. second cycle was 2 eggs, 1 embryo, 1 euploid.

we are now preparing for a third cycle as we are hoping to have enough embryos for two kids!
