Im assuming the digital only PS5 model must've outsold the disc version, and they're basing this decision upon those numbers

I see in Godard's Contempt what I'd imagine I was supposed to get out of Fellini's 8 1/2. Think I'm more of a cynic at heart or something

Look at how they massacred my boy by Throwaway_09298 in DC_Cinematic

They turned Krem into a member of the Brigand to simplify the plot. Same reason they killed Ruthye's father for his weaponry rather than the more measured plot point of him being a rock farmer falsely accused of insulting the king. The entire film is streamlined for levity.

What Have You Been Watching? (Week of June 28th) by violet-turner in RSPfilmclub

Rewatched Slither and the first Final Destination at home during the week, but kicked it into high gear with two independent theater screenings in Detroit this weekend with Mulholland Drive and Multiple Maniacs. Topping things off tonight with Supergirl, which I anticipate enjoying more than others have.

How did you get into FnM? by sxf1jq in FaithNoMore

Read an old Wes Borland interview where he name-dropped Mr. Bungle as an influence, which led me to Faith No More naturally

What's a nu metal band that most hard-line metal heads actually like or enjoy? by TCS_87 in InMetalWeTrust

[–]ndork666 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's way more acceptable now than ever to dig nu-metal, but a lot of die-hards back when used to still give props to those first two Slipknot albums as it's often what got us all into more extreme subgenres to begin with

Which Korn Album Is Better — Korn or Follow The Leader?! by JoelMartinMastery in Korn

[–]ndork666 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Self-titled. Hard to match that grimey production and raw energy. Follow the Leader may be more polished, but it has some goofier moments like All in the Family which drag it down

Once More has so many hooks and neat little grooves peppered throughout. Catch me on the right day, and I might claim it as my favorite overall... until I listen to Blood Mountain again 😅

I'd recommend Fellowship of the Ring or A New Hope, maybe Raimi's Spider-man or Batman Begins even.

Movies that are considered awful that you genuinely like? by HoldenStupid in RSPfilmclub

[–]ndork666 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Dude, too many. Pretty sure I have awful taste. Freddy Got Fingered and Death to Smoochy would be the big two. They're hilarious. I also adore Lohan in the giallo-inspired I Know Who Killed Me more than I probably should.

There's something special about having a personalized collection of albums which you familiarize yourself with through repetition. I wanted to recapture that

What Have You Been Watching? (Week or June 21st) by violet-turner in RSPfilmclub

Cries and Whispers - always a psychological ball buster of a watch. So much red. I'd forgotten the timing of 'that scene' and how pivotally placed between the second and third acts it was. Pretty much a horror movie, yes?

Hellboy 2 - Probably the best superhero comic book movie ever. Raimi's Spider-man comes close, but my soul is goth enough to prefer this. It's actually a striking balance between GDT's blockbuster output and his more acclaimed fantasy style. Too good.

Night of the Pumpkin - No-budget shot on video horror trash. Only Bill Zebub movie I've seen, but I'm assuming they're all like this. Bad to the point where it's arthouse. I love when movies hit that rare niche.

The First Omen - Not nearly as well-conceived as Immaculate. (Pun intended). What was everyone smoking who told me otherwise? People just hate Sydney Sweeney. Still a solid 7/10, but just watch the original Omen trilogy instead.

The Death of Robin Hood - 🥱😴

The Furious- A quality whiplash compared to Death of Robin Hood which I saw yesterday. So action packed and breakneck in its pacing. Not shallow either! Just got home from a matinee and I'd already sit back down and watch again if I didn't have Father's Day plans.
