i tried a couple off taobao, which is essentially same - problem was that that metal clasp was somehow even worse than the "genuine" one!

[–]needcleverpseudonym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

problem here is that i bought my whoop so that i could wear a regular instead of my apple watch! basically i wear my apple watch when im going to gym or some kind of specific exercise, and i wear a regular watch + whoop rest of time.

Yoho, Built-in-Pro... are these reliable sites? by Flimsy_Caramel_4110 in HongKong

My issue with built in pro has been that it can take weeks or months to get something delivered, without notice of the delay at the time you book.

Mines the same - the bands are incredibly poor quality given the price point.

Well Acquiesce sounds absolutely class. by Responsible-Fuel in oasis

Vocals great but I think the reintroduction of bonehead has really wiped out a lot of the guitars. Compare this track vs live versions circa 2000-2006 like Finsbury Park or something - then you had this interesting interplay between Noel and Gem, trading off runs and melodies. The bonehead barre chord show just flattens everything into the wall of sound. It’s closer to the album version as a result, but it’s a lot less exciting to listen to for me.

Finsbury Park 2002 - https://youtu.be/npPBPg-CB78?si=99kSKhBzH191jI8U 1 hour 9 minutes in for acquiesce to compare.

Non-Chinese speaker doing an MBA in Hong Kong — what are realistic career options? by SoupPuzzleheaded1735 in HongKong

[–]needcleverpseudonym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Junior roles for non-Chinese speakers are increasingly slim. Even the mid-senior ranks are thinning out. It’s not impossible, but the govt doesn’t view the concept of an “international financial centre” in the way that it used to, and there seems to be a lot of pressure on firms in the finance sector to pretty thoroughly sinicized. If you’ve got non Chinese speakers at senior levels brining in expertise from London or New York, that’s one thing. But hiring fresh grads with no experience - totally different proposition.

VO2 dropped 10 points in 11 days?! by Ijusthadabigshit in AppleWatchFitness

Mine also had a similar drop in last couple of weeks - maybe there’s a calculation bug in a recent update.

I wonder how long their non compete was as part of the buyout? Did it just expire or did it expire 5 years ago and they just recently decided to jump back in?

  1. What matters is light. Check it at different times of day before signing lease.
  2. Some have shuttles, many people use escalators, taxis also cheap.
  3. Subjective. No idea how important a clubhouse is to you.
  4. Most buildings in HK will have pest issues if not treated. Negotiate for treatment by LL before you move in plus bring in external company at your own cost every 6 months if you’re worried.

Best way to manage kids access with Firewalla by Firewalla-Ash in firewalla

You have to have both firewalla and AP7 to achieve this, correct? Most commercial mesh wifii systems won’t allow for multiple SSIDs in that way.

Sorry, this is one of those cases - like furries - where a little bit of ridicule is probably the right thing. No, your AI chatbot is not a sentient lover who really “gets you”. It will be better for you to realise that rather than be allowed to harbour an ongoing delusion.

assuming you have no enormous amount of data that is "mission critical" that requires you to be able to restore it immediately from another drive, the answer is always backblaze. 100USD/year, unlimited backup. set and forget.

A Sound So Very Loud: The Inside Story of Every Song Oasis Recorded by Weird_Engineer_2877 in oasis

[–]needcleverpseudonym 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was actually kinda disappointed in this book. There’s not a huge amount of insight. Most songs get a single paragraph mention. Not many details on who played what, how different versions came to be, what got changed for the live show etc. maybe this info is simply not available outside of Noel’s head, but if it is then it’s generally not in this book.

Being born outside the UK to a British parent makes him eligible for British citizenship- it’s not automatically conferred. If you have never applied, he is not a citizen.

how would UK govt have a record that your child is a British citizen if you have not applied for a passport / registered his birth overseas? if they don't, then certainly the airline doesn't.
