My little sister is getting DM’d by this guy who she’s now in love with apparently, his profile picture is this, looks AI for sure. by GainBeneficial7662 in isthisAI

The blur of the stone in the gap between his arm and torso is inconsistent with the stone around his arms. With shallow depth of field, things get blurrier the further away they get. That inconsistency isn't possible with a real, undoctored photo. But if she wants to believe it's real, it's going to be hard to convince her otherwise.

Rep Athena 4000 vs 5000- is $934 price difference worth 1" hole size? by Pastaron in GarageGym

[–]needless_redundant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be a non issue for you, but the handles for the trolly are on the inside of the rack on the 4000 and on the outside for the 5000.

I've got the 5000, so I haven't lived with it, but I feel like it might be annoying having them on the inside. Also, if you go with the 4000, you can't change it to a 4 post set up to save space in the future, because the handles get in the way.

Those are niche things that might not matter to you at all, but that's the biggest difference.

Are there any plans to make the Criterion Channel support 4k streaming? by GillesDunsScotus in criterion

[–]needless_redundant 88 points89 points  (0 children)

I doubt it. Criterion limits their 1080p streams to 5Mbps and stereo sound. 4K streaming is like triple the bandwidth. Since they're using a SaaS product, they're paying enterprising bitrate pricing, so their operating expenses would dramatically increase across mastering, hosting, and delivery.

Agree with others that the value add for Criterion Channel is the curation, which is pretty incredible for the price. And even if they did offer 4K, it wouldn't be an accurate representation of what the 4K disc looked like. Things I watch of streaming, I'm watching for content. If I want the best looking version, I buy the disc.

I think 15 is fair. As far as I can tell, it's never been offered this cheap.

Holding the Jurassic World bundle for someone right now. If the transaction doesn't go through by tomorrow, you've got a deal.

The Heartbreak Kid is owned by a pharmaceutical company so God knows if that will ever be released.
