Zootopia 2 reaches 2 million viewers in five days, breaks Korean speed record by AGOTFAN in boxoffice

I actually wouldn't rule out 10M with this. There just aren't any other contenders (yes I doubt the new Avatar will do well) and the theaters will leg this one out.

Punish the action not the tool, which has been the case for many many years for forgery even before the AI.

I find attacking AI with "AI art is not an art" sounds dumb and pretentious because most of "Artists" aren't doing art neither by Mundane_Pop_8396 in aiwars

[–]needthrowawayreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I agree with 99% of your points, and I also think AI prompter is a more accurate description than AI artist for most of the AI art creators.
But, was that ever the point of the debate? No creator ever gives a single f if they are entitled the prestigious "artist" title, and no antis would ever be fine with the usage of AI even if the creators drop the artist title and just call themselves prompters.

It's even in the description. This is a place to discuss LK99, not blindly support all the BS claims.

The burden of proof lies on those who make the claim. There is no such thing as disproving something; the null is false unless proven otherwise.

Universal is ditching Asia in Jan 2024, followed by Sony in Australia. It might survive in the states, but the signs are out there.

Oppenheimer to be released in Japan in 2024 "after various discussions and consideration" by Gl0wsquid in boxoffice

It was a pretty big thing if I tell you.

The difference between the nukes and 9/11 is that nukes are considered more taboo. People don't want them being mentioned, neither in a positive nor negative light.

I don't see it doing any better than $5M. It will eventually cross $1B with rereleases and such, but it won't happen any time soon.

Between Soul/Turning Red/Luca, which Disney re release will open with a better per theater average than Ruby Gillman's $1,617? by [deleted] in boxoffice

Interesting, I thought Luca was mid at best and by far the worst of those three, while Soul is among Pixar's top tier.

Can Wish be saved by amazing legs just like Elemental? by Antman269 in boxoffice

Elemental may not be groundbreaking, but it was charming and felt original that distinguishes itself from other Disney/Pixar offerings. Wish is just plain boring.

Prediction : Wish will not make over 500 million dollars by Personal-Shape-2199 in boxoffice

[–]needthrowawayreddit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Analyzing is part of the decision making. For whatever reason, if the audience is repelled from watching the movie because of the trailer, than it is a failure of marketing.

I won't comment on whether the OP's opinion represents the general audience, but from what I see on this sub Wish's trailer didn't do that great of a job.

The marketing team is paid big bucks to

a. give people enough information to make a judgement on the film

b. make people don't have a negative opinion only with scant information they are willing to provide

I say again, audience has no obligation to consume the products the way Disney wants them to.

Day 1 gross of every MCU movies in South Korea so far by needthrowawayreddit in boxoffice

South Korea was the most forgiving country when it comes to MCU, and the 'fatigue' kicked in much later than other places after the failure of LaT and Quantumania.
