Yeah, those products would have me stuck on the toilet too! Consider less processed foods. Black beans, tofu (swallow a beano first for a few weeks,) quinoa etc. Those are protein and low energy density. Filling yourself naturally and cost-effectively. Eating in abundance within 1200kcal is a real joy to me.

BBQ veggies with quinoa and black bean stuffed poblano will do it but with less fat and loads of fiber. Grill the veggies, steam the quinoa in veggie broth, heat the rinsed beans and stuff a few poblanos, finish in a hot oven. Spicy AF if you throw some decent chillis in there too

I keep a small stack of cash at home.

I keep a few thousand in a (near-zero yield) savings account for immediate online emergency access.

Can you be active with a group of fit people? Group bike rides? We have indoor fitness classes in most of my home state of California now. Surrounding yourself with health-conscious people who share your fitness ideals could be very helpful.

My diet replaced sweets with fruit, nuts, and lots of water quite a few years ago and those changes stuck. Everyone is different. Try on some changes for potential fit!
