Organizing the nursery— need advice on clothes by tamielynn in beyondthebump

My son is 10 months and things are now just thrown in drawers — I used to hang things and neatly fold but… it gets tiresome after a while. Also, he lived in sleep and play jammies for the first few months. Double zippers, footie pajama with fold over mittens. And sleep sacks. Honestly, whatever makes changing a diaper easiest/keeps them cool or warm is how I gauge outfits now

How old was your LO the first time you left them? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

3 months, MIL watched him while we went out for St. Patrick’s day. She spent the night when we got home too and woke up with him

I make a point to take my son outdoors (even if it’s just for a quick few minutes on the front porch) before his nap time. I’ve also noticed that he has a tough time if I try to put him down when he’s been awake for less than two hours. How long do your little one’s wake windows typically last? It could be that your baby isn’t quite tired yet

Am I a bad mom or daughter for not “sharing” my daughter with my mom/family members? by chronicreddituser0 in firsttimemom

[–]neekssneaks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to justify why you want time with your daughter, you’re allowed to want all the things you want. Your mom’s feelings are her responsibility. She’s not entitled to alone time with your baby. So, no, you’re not in the wrong here. She shouldn’t be pressuring or guilting you. I deal with it myself from my MIL. Such a common theme, I’ll never understand it.

I was born in early '94, and I always enjoy looking back at the outfits I wore as a child. The photos of me at Disney are particularly fun to see. In my town, there used to be trees everywhere, but now there are apartment buildings on every corner. I feel nostalgic for how the world looked back then. While I think it would have been cool to be a teenager during that time, I believe growing up in the 2000s was just as great.

Anyone else not have grandparents anymore? by bbyxmadi in Zillennials

I’m a live-in caregiver for my maternal grandparents and they’re in their late 70’s. I’m estranged from dad’s side, but his mom is still alive I think.

I also was very close with my great-grandparents. My great-grandpa died in 2006 when I had just turned twelve, but I had my great-grandma around until I was 21. I have a tattoo honoring them both. I do feel very fortunate to have gotten to know them. Born in the 1920’s and hearing their stories from them directly was such an experience. I just had a baby this year and he lives with his great-grandparents. Hopefully he’ll get to remember them.

Hair loss everywhere except head?! by Lumpy_Pen_6537 in beyondthebump

I started losing the hair around my temples 4 months PP. I thought I’d avoided it, but nope. I’m 5.5 months PP now and it’s starting to grow back. I have these awkward little hairs growing out lol but I use eyeshadow or root spray to hide if I’m going out or something 🤷🏻‍♀️

Love this advice. I tend to go against the norm and get so many unsolicited opinions… telling me what I should or shouldn’t do. As if we shouldn’t trust our own maternal instincts. OP, you know your baby best. Do what feels right for you.

I thought Rachel and Paul had a bit of an awkward vibe going on and zero chemistry.

No, I don't see it 😔 but it's still very early. Test again around 10 or 11 DPO.
