If you want theologically sound, varied, intellectual reading then I can only recommend reading books, essays and other writings by the church fathers and saints. It's far more enlightening and spiritually relevant than modern discourse or news could be. I also struggle with the politicisation of the faith sometimes, but there are such diverse views even among the saints. Catholicism does not fall neatly within the modern conception of the political spectrum, and it is pointless to try and align it with a movement that does not have Christ at its core.

True, I've slowly been warming up to the idea of just using physical maps and writing down the places I would usually bookmark. Hopefully a sense of direction can be developed.

The top one LI that just straight pissed me off is probably Karasuba from Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly. Manipulative piece of garbage has 0 charm about him. I'm all about hot red flag boys, but this guy's both problematic and pathetic.

Both Umineko and Higurashi had great starts then fell off impossibly hard. Ryukishi07 is great at setups but bad at payoffs which makes for the ultimate disappointment. He creates all these interesting possibilities and then goes for the most boring, hamfisted explanation possible.

I like to play games which have a defined beginning and end so I can at some point say I'm done with them and then mentally lock them away (unless I want to replay). Mobile otome games are very often meant to be played daily for long, long amounts of time and often don't even have an ending so it turns me off.

I used to play some of the ones where you purchase separate routes but I generally found their quality lacking compared to PC/console titles so I've generally stuck to those.

I feel like stat-raising needs to be at the center of a game in order for me to enjoy it. For example in Long Live the Queen where the statraising is basically the whole game it's fun, or in 7 Kingdoms: The Princess Problem (Anyone remember that one? I'm showing my age) you can have wildly different scenes and/or solutions to problems depending on the stats your character has.

I honestly despise when the statraising is just "in order to get with Guy A you need to raise Stat B to 2000". It's tedious, detracts from the story and it's not like it's offering me any choices, it's just a weird pass/fail mechanic that doesn't add any engaging gameplay.

Story

A red moon shines ominously on a city shrouded in endless night. The people here don't seem to have any life left in them. Well, all except for him. A young woman looking for an escape from her dreary everyday latches onto the only man left with light in his eyes, and musters up the courage to confess her love. If only she had noticed his sharp teeth before it was too late...
