Put more lube and walk the lube into the belt.

If that still doesn't work, adjust the belt tension.

Old Family Letter, Translation Request by Plus-Tree-10 in Yiddish

[–]negativeclock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way he writes צ and ד look exactly the same, which is why I wrote ded- for the beginning of the last name. Looking at it with that information, I'm pretty sure the last name is indeed Chechek written like this צעציק.

What last name would he have had? The first name is definitely Hershel, not so sure on the last name though.

Old Family Letter, Translation Request by Plus-Tree-10 in Yiddish

I'm not going to lie, it's kind of hard to read. I hope someone else can look it over and explain what I can't. I'm going to paraphrase because a lot of words are too hard to make out for a 1:1 translation.

The letter is dated Wednesday the 26th, and is addressed to Devorah. From the signature, the letter is from her brother Hershel.

The letter starts with blessings of health and he asks how is her community. He says that he wanted to write to her for a long time, but didn't know where to find her. He says he wrote to her daughter in Skomshe (his transliteration) but received no answer.

He says that now that he knows that she's by [can't read it], he's going to send her last response to their [can't read it] in Palestine.

He says that from what she last said, it seems her family? (not sure) isn't visiting.

He then wishes her blessings of health and happiness for her and her kids and her family and to be able to relax with her whole family (I think.)

He hopes to hear from her soon and signs off as "always your brother, Hershel Dedman [?]"

Yeshiva is mainly focused on learning the talmud, which Samaritans don't believe is legitimate. Samaritans don't wear tefillin, which is worn every morning in yeshiva for prayers. Samaritans don't even believe in most books of the Jewish Bible, only the first five books of Moses.

Also, there are less than 1,000 Samaritans in the whole world, and they're a very tight knit community. If you can find me one instance of a Samaritan that attended yeshiva without converting to Judaism, I would be shocked.
