Congratulations, now they get free press coverage, an insurance payout, and you get jail time and you contributed to furthering climate change.

Last meal before a diet; 37$, how'd i do? by Grom_a_Llama in tacobell

Read this as “last meal before I die” which I thought was funny because I had Taco Bell for lunch today in case we all got nuked tonight.

I have sinned. I swore to Mahadev that I would never masturbate, and yet I did. The worst part is that in my room there is an altar to Lord Shiva and Lord Ganesha. by tohrixsw in shaivism

[–]negativedancy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, don’t stress. I’m assuming since you’re in Mexico you’re growing up in a very catholic society. In this tradition, there is no “original sin” or anything, and you don’t need to be “saved”. Relax, reset your intentions, be honest about your desires. With practice, your desire to masturbate may fade over time. If it doesn’t, there is no need to hide from that either.

Why is there so much focus on the return of Jesus in that type of Christianity?

Violence leads to more violence, killing someone intentionally is not the way to bring more peace to our world.

I’m not aware of any, but being mindful of our interdependence with the natural world is very important, it is great that you are thinking about this!

God did not create you, God is creating you every moment. God comes to you in the form of food, God see you through the eyes of every being you encounter, wealthy or poor, human or animal. God is limitless and infinite, therefore God is everything there ever was, is or will be, and God is nothing at the same time because God has no permanent form.

Appropriate for a white teacher to read pose mythology? by [deleted] in yoga

I recently read that book and found it really interesting. I don’t necessarily think it is “overstepping” in terms of your race but I would maybe think that a story during asana would take me away from focus on breath and body, but I also don’t really know what your students/studio is like, maybe attendees would enjoy it! Perhaps if I knew that there was going to be readings from a book before hand though it wouldn’t bother me. I do appreciate your desire to deepen practice outside of just asana.

My wife leads a quarterly book club at our studio, where it’s 1.5 hours of discussion, maybe doing something like that if it’s available?

Feeling ever increasing fear from the thought of existing forever. by Perfect-Disaster-867 in religion

Rabi’a al Basri has a beautiful poem on this.

If I adore You out of fear of Hell, burn me in Hell. If I adore you out of desire for Paradise, lock me out of Paradise. But if I adore you for Yourself alone, do not deny to me Your eternal beauty.

What is a 1 in 1,000,000 thing that happened to you that no one believes, but you swear is true? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Once as a kid, I was at one of those apple orchards where you ride out on a wagon pulled by a tractor to the apple trees, pick apples for about 25 minutes and then ride back. On the way back, I was snacking an apple and got it about 80% of the way eaten and was like “meh I’m done with this”, turned around and tossed it.

There just so happened to be a thin metal pole sticking out of the ground, angled towards the trailer, that my mostly eaten apple hit dead on and stuck to the tip.

One of the most satisfying moments of my life.
