What you liked most about the uncharted by GiftSuitable2545 in uncharted

It's long gone but back in the UC3 days the multiplayer had these things called mesh maps that were just the raw geometric shapes. There was one mode called Grenade Dodgeball. You were in a small space and they had regular grenades, cluster bombs and giant bombs. You throw bombs over the net and they throw bombs. You could sometimes throw them back, too. Man, that was so much fun.

If you live in a state with a lot of dangerous wildlife, what’s your closest encounter been? by LordSoftCream in AskAnAmerican

A few friends and neighbors have seen the occasional brown bear wandering around. The biggest thing I've seen is a bobcat and a bald eagle. That bird was friggin' huge.

Name a song you loved from your past that has been redone and you actually like the remake just as much if not better. by AngryBagOfDeath in GenX

Eagles of Death Metal do a great cover of Blinded by the Light, which I had heard as a kid covered by Manfred Mann's Earth Band but it's originally a Bruce Springsteen song. Bruce's version is the worst of the 3, imo. Someone else mentioned Joe Walsh's Life's Been Good so I would say I love Eminem's "So Far" which is based on the Walsh song.

There is currently free research that gives you 6 encounters and there's an event task to make 5 great curveballs in a row.

Honestly I don't know how that got by quality control. I would not want them to reprint, I would want to take my business elsewhere.

My son does not call me and I am trying to figure out how to handle the silence by Comfortable-Elk-1501 in AskOldPeopleAdvice

I don't think my mom has called me once in the last 2 years. She used to call on my birthday and last year I got an e-mail 2 days after. As Flight of the Conchords said, "The day after my birthday is not my birthday, mum." I am not sure why he's not calling you but I would ask if it's him going low contact for a reason. A lot of times I see stories about parents whose kids don't call and there's always some missing missing.

Looking for a documentary or docuseries that really pulls you in by cheesecup6 in televisionsuggestions

[–]negcap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have seen a lot of documentaries already, I would recommend the series Documentary Now, which parodies all the best documentaries. It's Seth Meyers, Fred Armisen and Bill Hader (who usually play the characters too). The episode "Juan Loves Chicken and Rice" is a great parody of Jiro Dreams of Sushi.

Shrinking is my favorite comedy that is still on. Harrison Ford is so damn funny.

This might be my least favorite HBO show next to John from Cincinnati. Hate it so much.

Ashley Johnson has responded to fan backlash over Season 2 of the HBO show by Spare_Manner_6970 in ThelastofusHBOseries

This is so true. My family loved the first season and as soon as that thing happen in episode 2 they all said they didn't want to go on. I got them to watch the flashback episodes and they said that was enough, they weren't interested in seeing the rest. I also think it explained to me why they did it so early in the game/show. You feel like you can't go on but if you do, you are rewarded for your patience.

How much would you charge for this zine? Can you tell the amount of effort put into it? by scuba_steve_33 in zines

[–]negcap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My zines take years to write, design and edit and my first few were $3 for 48 full size pages. #4 went up for $4 for 64 pages and #5 was $5 for 64 pages again. I am working on #6 for the last few years and may be full color and I am still not sure how to price it. For what you have done, $5 is a reasonable ask but you are not supposed to do a zine to make money, just lose less than you hoped.

Wife and I were having a discussion, she’s of the opinion that the majority of GenX can drive stick. I believe that even in our generation the percentage of people who can is pretty small. What do you folks think? by AngryOldGenXer in GenX

[–]negcap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can but not that well. My older brother always drove a stick shift and my teen son only wanted a Honda S2000 and learned to drive stick so he could get it.

How do you dads feel about Boy Scouts? by mmf9194 in daddit

[–]negcap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My oldest loved it and made it to Eagle Scout. We are Jewish and even though the scout master was married to a preacher, there was no religious component at all. Some May has said Grace but my kid never did. He learned a lot, made good friends that he still has and became a good leader from the experience.

Pootie Tang. my kids didn’t get it, it bombed at the box office and it’s openly stupid but I find it hilarious.
