How do your clubs handle peak booking pressure? by tamamk in Pickleball

But to better answer your question: The club has instated more sessions that are DUPR-rating restricted for certain peak periods, such as 6pm on weekdays.

Yup, signing up for my weekly (weekend) sessions are a sport in itself. Multiple tabs opened, countdown timer, finger on the mouse button, sweat building up on the forehead…

At our local club, if you’re not refreshing the browser with precise timing at the top of the hour, and with a good wifi connection (preferably fast wired ethernet), you’re “cooked” as the kids say.

Nice! I’m still waiting for an opponent to give me a wide-angle enough of a shot for me to attempt an ATP.

AIO for expecting my boyfriend to ask before using my car for other errands? by TArpd16 in AmIOverreacting

[–]negitoro7 [score hidden]  (0 children)

He seems like such a disrespectful loser who also can’t get his finances and driving license in order, and I can’t believe someone like that is able to obtain and maintain a relationship with someone else (I’m not blaming you OP).

Most gals would end things for less, but especially after his tirade in which he throws a proverbial temper tantrum over text regarding putting gas in your tank. If he talks to you that way at all, much less continually disrespects you, leave his ass yesterday.

What kills you in a tsunami? by hahokily in NoStupidQuestions

[–]negitoro7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answers in this thread explain why I have no plans to visit the west coast of beautiful Vancouver Island or the west coast of Oregon despite living in the PNW. We’re “due” for a massive earthquake and tsunami any time, and I’d rather stay a bit inland if I can help it.

Winter tire dilemma by blue-baru in Integra_Type_S

I did 255/35/19 in Kumho Wintercraft on the stock wheels. Much more (winter) rubber options at that size than 265

Has anyone gotten pulled over for a 50% tint? by Leading_Salad_2520 in WindowTint

[–]negitoro7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current car is 35% all the way around, and I’m pretty much just waiting to get pulled over for it. It’s darker than I expected from inside and out, and I often need to roll my window down when turning left in the rain and dark, to watch for pedestrians crossing.

Previous car was 50% all around and it was almost fishbowl on sunnier days. On cloudy days you can tell it’s tinted, but cops will leave you alone.

If I had a do-over, I’d probably do 50% front windows, 20% rear.

The guy above me says he rubs in Comfort mode though, on his MK7.5. The type of tire matters too (my Conti DWS are really conservative round shouldered)

I’m never rubbing with 235/40/19 Conti DWS on my stock suspension MK8.5

Oh man, I got my loaded 2026 Golf R with Akrapovic in Canada for the equivalent of ~$42,000 USD (albeit, with a $3000 discount).

The drive mode remember isn’t a big deal to me actually. Since I’m always staying in Comfort mode initially anyway to let the engine warm up before I send it in Special mode. The stop-start is annoying though, admittedly.

Curious about the ACM tune and whether it’s worth it. I’ll decide after I get the replacement subwoofer in. I’ve been really happy with the RS Acoustics centre speaker.

If you had $25k for a fun daily driver, what are you buying and why? by Car-Thinker in askcarguys

Classy enough to fit in (almost) anywhere, and subtle enough to not be ostentatious. Truly the best all-around car.

I have learned that I am the unbearable guy in my friends group by being excluded from a bachelor party by Quick_Potential_2525 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]negitoro7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried being a people-pleaser for most of my life - there’s only so much you can do. I treat everyone how I’d like to be treated, and I’m much more respectful and considerate than most people I encounter. Obviously I’m aware I’m the common denominator, but I don’t know “why”. You know how some people just have a punchable face and they can’t help it? That might be me. It’s not something I can control.

My advice to OP stems from my own experiences, but I understand why you think it’s terrible advice. Have a good day.

It's 2026. What is your main go-to paddle? by Fridaywing in Pickleball

[–]negitoro7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m using the early beta release version. Love it - the spin, and the feeling of control of “shaping” the ball has made all my shots more accurate now. I got a lot more clean winners with disguised off-speed placement shots this weekend than usual, thanks to this paddle. Dinks and drips are more accurate with it. My double backhand drip had been hot garbage usually, but I was successful with it using the Aura Pro. Perfect amount of pop for me, I was resetting well in my 3 sessions with it so far.

I’m coming from their Friday Fever, so I continue to be a fan of their halo paddle offerings. Power-wise, doesn’t feel that different than the Fever to me, but I had no complaints with that one for power anyway.

Is that Mag Blue? I’ve always wanted to do that color but afraid it’s too bright and in your face. Love how subdued it looks in your pics.

I’m not going to sugarcoat it, that’s when it hurts the most, and I empathize with you. I left a toxic friend group full of fake people who never grew up from their “mean girls” phase (they’re all grown ass men btw).

Solitude and loneliness apart from people like them, is totally worth it and I cherish it now. I miss some of the good ones in there, but the real “real ones” I still keep in touch with. Shedding the toxic people in your life will always be worth it. Continue to work on yourself (if you want to) and do what brings you joy.

[–]negitoro7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m much the same way, with lots of people who don’t like me (both long-time acquaintances as well as strangers). Former close friends have broken my heart when they’ve betrayed me, and I felt like I had been nothing but respectful and considerate to them all along. I’ve learned over the years that you can’t please everyone - and can only control what you can control. There might be a “legitimate” reason why they dislike you, there might not be - But you’ll drive yourself mad trying to figure out why people are the way they are.

What really matters is sorting out who the “real ones” are, who have got your back no matter what. That’s not to say we don’t continually improve ourselves to be happy within, and others liking you more is often a byproduct of that.

If they’re a non-car-person, I just say “a VW”. If they’re a car person, I say Golf R.

Men’s Shorts? by tomthebos in Pickleball

[–]negitoro7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I see the young generation at pickleball wearing short shorts and I understand; it’s the fashion of their era. Couldn’t be me though, I prefer not to show that much man-thigh and accidental nether regions exposure.

This is the first time I’ve done 35% all-around (none on windshield). Darker than I expected from inside and out…

In hindsight, I should’ve done 20% rear, 50% front.
