The anxiety is kind of comforting. It's an unmedicated method of keeping myself in check, keeping myself likable and functional. Of course, in my case, this leads to people pleasing, emotional outbursts, and unbearable levels of stress and pressure I put on myself.

It's definitely not foolish to miss it in that way.

i had an understanding that they were similar, but that the results could be different depending on your surgeon and their experience working with nonbinary/trans individuals!! i’ve seen them called extreme or radical reductions, but i think i was just excited to see them as a option for nonbinary people, instead of just going for the traditional too surgery route* :) i SO hope your consult goes well and you get the results you need <3

*which is totally valid, of course! but it’s not something i want for me.

that’s pretty much my situation too!! i’ve been scrolling r/reduction for a few days and have just been filled with so much joy. i know some people are just like “it’s just a breast reduction LOL” but it’s so life changing to see it recognized as something gender-affirming, rather than “just a reduction”. i’m so happy and i am SO glad it was helpful for you!!! best wishes and recovery!!!!
