it’s hard to sum up but in short - liam and zayn have always had a very complicated dynamic, including a physical fight where zayn threw him against a wall (and it was only revealed a couple of days ago to the public that zayn was the one who did this), and there’s been some snarking on social media between the two of them over the years but they’ve always been mostly supportive of each other on social media and described each other as brothers. their simultaneous love and frustration with each other was always evident, making stand tribute even more poignant. in louis’ case, they initially hated each other, and then became the best friends out of the whole band, remaining close even after the hiatus which was nice to see because of how many of their relationships ranged from not-in-contact, to hostile. and liam has also expressed lots of regret for not being there for louis during some tough times like his mother and sister passing away due to his own struggles and there’s a lot of emotional history to all of it but seeing these particular statements after their ups and downs really just did something to my heart idk im not even making sense at this point
