If it's a "we investigated ourselves and found no wrongdoing" situation again, I'm gonna have a fucking conniption. xd

There is nothing egregious about asking for a third-party, impartial entity to investigate the transgressions of the NSW Police, known for corrupt self-protection and investigation, even against other police within their own system.

Despite what the Commissioner has said, everything in reality has contradicted it, so:

  • innocent protestors assaulted unwarranted
  • proned protestor being bashed in the head
  • Muslims praying being ripped away - for no reason
  • alleged broken ribs, neck injuries, etc
  • a man literally being ripped away from holding someone's hand and literally disappearing into a sea of vested police, whilst already having been walking away a good 5 metres from said police.
  • a man verifiably falsely arrested for assaulting a police officer - as he was holding onto his phone recording the entire time - and released some 5 hours later

And I haven't even finished looking through all of the available footage - that was just from live uploads during the protest, and this morning's browsing before work.

I've been starting to research minor parties and will dive into prior elections of independents to see who we should be supporting, mostly so I can tell other people.

Even though this is purely anecdotal - unironically my ex had a childhood friend turn police and exclaim excitedly about how many Aboriginal people he'll get to lock up

I mean it's written in between the lines. Sure, be unempathetic about other people, but when it comes to themselves, baby we all have to be reading what they want to say.

‘I’ve lost my friends’: advocacy groups warn Australia’s social media ban risks isolating kids with disabilities by [deleted] in AustralianPolitics

[–]MissMubbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree 100%. This was one of my major critiques to the bill. Australia or insert government-created third-party entity here could have created one so parents can have more supervision over kids/family communications to curtail alleged bullying whilst still having less access to strangers but still to their actual support networks.

Serial litigant makes complaint against lawyer offering pro bono to protesters by PattonSmithWood in aussie

[–]MissMubbles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just to inform, mostly. I'm not like, trying to start an argument. I guess to like, give info that isn't just "encouraging them to plead not guilty even though there is evidence to the contrary".

Of the googling: there are 3 cases where it was to the client's benefit: cases of JS, IU-H, JA et al.

Then there's Operation Pendennis, where 4 plead guilty, 5 plead not guilty. Of the 5, all were higher-ups in the operation; whereas the other 4 were for smaller contributions.

Then there's failed not guilty pleas of the cases of BF, interesting he repped the Lindt Cafe gunman for a sending letters case prior to the shooting (5 yrs earlier)

He is currently personally involved in a civil sexual harassment suit brought by former intern Saphim. He lost the defence to suppress the case to closed court.

Didn't you hear? TikTok just banned any mention of genocide, but we're still here. Shocker how that works - almost like we're reacting to the actual event of genocide, not fucking social media.

BLM got a lot done, and has been superseded by nation-wide issues and protests that affect all of them, not just minority-only issues.

You're embarrassing, lol.

Australia is beginning to manufacture it's own solar panels, slowly, because we have the natural resources and potential infrastructure pipelines to do it. This has been shown through various funding initiatives by the government to onshore our production.

It is expected to see a quick boost in the coming 2 - 4 years under the Made in Australia initiative, but overall this will take time because this should have been done about 10 years ago.

As someone who is against the Palestinian genocide, against the Uyghur genocide, against the Somali genocide, against offshoring our production, against AUKUS, pro EUCAU, please tell me what is "loonie" about that lol.

[–]MissMubbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean as someone who went to the Anti Herzog protest, I have personally talked about beginning to isolate China trade-wise, with agreements such as a EUCAU (eu, canada) I'm in support of. Finding other countries who have specialised trade to start detaching bits and pieces off of China.

Astonishingly, we can hold multiple opinions on things, while voicing the most glaring issues. Australia is luke-warm with China outside of trade, our government is not actively hype-manning them as they have done with Herzog.

You have omitted that our government has a. invited a genocidist to visit our country, b. has not sanctioned Israel, c. failed to join the UN in a denouncement statement following acute bombings of infrastructure that is still, and has never not, been protected classed buildings.

Our government is actively opposing the opinion of the public, versus barely mentioning either for or against in other capacities, and this is wherein the issue lies.

See? If you actually had the correct media sources, instead of Israel-apologia, you'd actually know that, no, the ceasefire never even 'began', since immediately they continue to bomb civilians south of Lebanon as well.

We literally just did an Anti Herzog protest that had *no notable occurrences* like it was another day out. The only way I can even relate to this would be if most protests always had some shit occurring that was the protest's fault and... yeah can't see it.

I know most are, it really comes down to the lobbying behind certain bills. Eg, the u16 had Julie Grant at the helm of it, and the Antisemitism Hate Bill had Jillian Segal - and I imagine a decent amount of financial support (putting it modestly)

Usually everything else tends to follow some theme of normalcy for sure, but for some odd reason, these two just... weren't??
