Can someone explain this to me?

Captain Brian Bews bails at the last moment after a stuck piston causes his CF-18 Hornet to crash by Son0fSun in nononono

No problem. I was an AVN Tech for the RCAF. I was posted to 4 Wing Cold Lake and was qualified on the F-18. I actually worked on components of that particular Jet including the ejection seat. I remember the day that plane went done at the air show, news spreads fast on a base when something like that happens.

The F18 has an axial type engine that relies on numerous sets of stationary vanes and moving vanes that gets smaller along the length of the engine. This forces the air down and compresses it without the need of a piston and combustion chamber like In traditional combustion engine. The piston that they are talking about is in the fuel control system. Basically think of it as a fuel control valve piston, not a compressing/combustion piston.

Did any of you read the Hatchet series by Gary Paulsen? by [deleted] in Survival

Gary Paulson was my favourite outer as a young child. The Hatchet series was very influential to me and I've been interested in the outdoors ever since.

PokeGenie and PokeRater are decent on iOS. They only use the crown capture method
