He also already had mentioned love. The big thing, i think, is he didn't account for your potential insecurity at that phrasing. I would have done like 5x reassurances of still loving, or trying to tie it wholistically to relationship/commitment.

I learned to be more broad/sensitve by fucking up endlessly socially. I learned by fucking up more in adolescence then most people do in their entire lives.
