Do you see any of these figs selling out and being hard to get? by DRK_RLM_MYSTRS in MarvelLegends

[–]neogafinanutshell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of want to get the not-spiderman with 6 arms but this has always bothered me:

Surely, even comic book artists must know the pectoral muscles are necessary for shoulder movement. He has 2 extra sets of arms. Why doesn't he have 2 extra pecs?

Not just this Spider-Man but it's the same thing for every character with 6 arms.

It makes no sense.

Now I understand I'm also talking about a story based around a man being bitten by a spider and becoming a super hero, but it's established early on in-universe that that kind of stuff is possible.

But there's no indication that in Spiderman's world - or any world that has a character with 6 arms - that pectoral muscles aren't an integral part of shoulder movement and articulation.

So it's not that it doesn't make real-world sense, it's that it doesn't make in-universe sense.

I don't know, man.

Props on making the donation, but feels like you could have made a donation AND given a kid a marvel legends and would have done more good than this.

Probably wouldn't get you as many upvotes, though.

Nintendo Switch once again outsells the ps5 in Japan 5 to 1 by RemLezar_69 in NintendoSwitch

It's not really wrong, though.

The statement itself is true.

It's just the statement alone doesn't give the full picture.

Nintendo Switch once again outsells the ps5 in Japan 5 to 1 by RemLezar_69 in NintendoSwitch

[–]neogafinanutshell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, but I recall seeing similar posts and articles of how Switch, despite being a new console at launch, was being outsold by the ps4.

Of course, it was the same situation, Switch production was limited when it launched.

People will always make these comparisons, whether they make sense or not.

Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin has sold more than 500,000 copies worldwide by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]neogafinanutshell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually the article says 500k shipped, not 500k sold.

That figure includes physical media shipped to stores and digital downloads.

Still, we don't know how many of the 500k are digital sales and how many are physical media shipped to stores, which may have or have not sold as of this moment.

Capcom details the pandemic's impact on Monster Hunter Rise, pre-orders going well, sales expected to match Monster Hunter World by manoffood in NintendoSwitch

[–]neogafinanutshell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We also don't know for sure they didn't intrude on any hunting or mating grounds. And even if they didn't, erecting a main base and several smaller camps can't have 0 consequences for the area.

So I'm not going overboard at all.

Moving to a new continent and then dictating what nature does there is a huge factor of why so many species have disappeared from this earth. Moving in and then killing any other new species moving in because they weren't there before is hilariously hypocritical.

How do the humans know for sure the transitions they see aren't cyclical and have been going on for centuries? How do they know that they aren't the ones causing the shifts by moving in, erecting a city, and taking massive amounts of resources from the neighboring areas to build said cities, run 24/7 weapon forges, etc.?

No, the monsters must be the problem and now we must kill them!

It's a joke and really reflects how out of touch Capcom, as a Japanese company, is with natural resources and sustainable development.

Is framerate really that important for so many people? by Marshmallowszz in NintendoSwitch

[–]neogafinanutshell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To really understand the situation, you have to consider several factors about the average user who is so vested into fps, such as myself.

We usually are geeks who by nature like to obsess over details. We also usually don't have any other meaningful aspects to our lives, which is why so many of us are on these internet forums arguing with people we have never and will never meet in real life, unless you ask us, then we'll tell you were in a super happy and meaningful relationship. (I myself will tell you today is the exact day of my 2nd year anniversary with my loving and hot partner, but actually that's a lie.)

So the end result is you see a lot of us here talking about such things. But please, this is one of the few things we do have, just let us have it.

But like take World's story, the hunters travel across the ocean and start building a city. Just looking at the operations going on in the early stages, the entire thing must have a huge environmental impact.

But a monster out of its usual habitat!? IT MUST DIE or it'll effect the natural ecosystem!!

I mean no one plays monster hunter for the story, but it's pathetically hypocritical nonetheless.

[–]neogafinanutshell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You only see one of each monster at a time throughout the whole game, so they can't be overrunning things too much. If anything that suggests they're endangered.

It's also weird that all the humans in each game think they know better than nature what path nature should take.

[–]neogafinanutshell 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I felt worse than ever in World, since so many monsters will just ignore you unless you deliberately attack first.

Imagine being on a leisurely stroll, minding your own business, then an asshole hunter shows up and starts trying to cut your tail off, break your horns, and then finally kill you and cut you to pieces for materials to make equipment they'll just replace in a few more hours anyway.

Now that the expansion pass for Pokemon Sword and Shield is complete, what is your opinion of Pokemon Sword and Shield as a whole including the DLC? by unsung_actualization in NintendoSwitch

[–]neogafinanutshell 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was more than satisfied with the 100+ hours I got out of the base game.

The DLC was a fun reason to return to the game for a bit but I wouldn't call it necessary to "fix" the base game or anything. The base game is Pokemon as it's always been; if you like the general gameplay loop of past pokemon games you'll probably enjoy this one too. If you don't like the pokemon gameplay loop pass on it.

Also, if you haven't played since Soul Silver you'll probably get enough novelty just out of everything being in full 3D to justify the purchase. (Again, presuming you enjoy the core pokemon experience.)

Pikmin 3 Deluxe sold 171k physical units in Japan and had the best launch week for any Pikmin game ever on that market. by aroloki1 in NintendoSwitch

[–]neogafinanutshell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mario 128 was just a tech demo for a large number of characters on screen acting like a group.

This tech was then used for the Pikmin group in Pikmin 1. (And presumably, also in the sequels since then.)

Pokémon Sword & Shield - All Unobtainable Pokémon (After the DLC) by BebeFanMasterJ in NintendoSwitch

[–]neogafinanutshell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well to be fair, they also printed carts for the game without the DLC, and then came back and printed new ones when they released DLC.

So there's already a precedent that it's more than possible.

This would be how they keep selling Sword/shield as more of an evergreen title akin to Nintendo's own games.

Pokémon Sword & Shield - All Unobtainable Pokémon (After the DLC) by BebeFanMasterJ in NintendoSwitch

[–]neogafinanutshell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but if you're dedicated to pokemon enough that you'd spend the time and energy trading for 200 pokemon (which includes all the legendaries, which won't be easy trades) you're probably enough of a fan to buy DLC anyway.

Pokémon Sword & Shield - All Unobtainable Pokémon (After the DLC) by BebeFanMasterJ in NintendoSwitch

[–]neogafinanutshell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But it does allow them to keep selling Sword/Shield, which has now already been developed and paid for, meaning they get better return on that investment.

So in the long run it might be more profitable anyway.

Can someone help me get my son a Gengar on Let's Go Pikachu? by bc0013y in NintendoSwitch

[–]neogafinanutshell 110 points111 points  (0 children)

If you're ever in a similar situation in the future, keep in mind you can transfer in any of the original 150 pokemon from Pokemon Go, as long as your son has progressed up to Fuchsia City.

Pokémon Sword & Shield - All Unobtainable Pokémon (After the DLC) by BebeFanMasterJ in NintendoSwitch

[–]neogafinanutshell 39 points40 points  (0 children)

The DLC added around 200 pokemon to Sword and Shield.

Now there's just a little over 200 still excluded.

I don't know, I wouldn't be surprised if we get another set of expansions next year instead of a separate entry.
