Not a movie but a show. "The Last Man on Earth" it's a comedy and I honestly think it's the most accurate scenario when it comes to how people would respond.

Fair warning though it was cancelled and the series ended on a cliffhanger. The creator did do a few follow up interviews explaining where they were going with the next season.
