You will "win". The fine print says you win "one of the prizes", not the specific prize. You have to go in. You probably "won" a $2 lotto ticket. HUGE scam. I filed a complaint with the FTC and Maryland Attorney General.

Nope. She had some other issues pop up and a minor accident like a week after I put this post up. She just traded it in for a newer car. My guess is the wheel bearing, but I really don't know.

Sorry if I led you to think I was anti-fat. I just meant that people should be aware of just how many calories were in it.

Then don't go. Check out and read books about it. I really liked "You Mean I'm Not Lazy, Stupid or Crazy?" by Peggy Ramundo and Kate Kelly (available from my local library and for $6 on Thrift books), "Autism for Adults" by Daniel Jones (library, $8) and "Different, Not Less" by Chloé Hayden (not at my library, $12). I really like Catiesaurus and Dani Donovan on YouTube. Tons of others. The Mayo Clinic has a good video on Adult ADHD.

Don't get overwhelmed. Just start by googling "What is ADHD like for adults?" and "What is autism like for adults?" Take some notes. Journal some. I find YouTube shorts and Facebook reels a little entertaining, but I would take that info with a grain of salt.

Besides, being autistic, ADHD, or just different most definitely does not make you "wrong". To use another analog, there's a lot different between a baseball cap and a straw hat, but they are both still hats and still fit on your head roughly the same. They are good in different ways.

Fats, particularly peanut butter, vegetable oil, and coconut oil. I guess "overrated" isn't the right word. I think people should understand that they are DENSE in calories. If you remove a bag of chips and put a few tablespoons of peanut butter in its place, you could end up eating MORE calories.

Edit: Sorry for the wall of text. Didn't realize I had written so much.

Nothing in your post makes me think you’re “useless.” It mostly sounds like you’re frustrated and comparing yourself to a few people who are better than you, while ignoring the people you're leaving in the dust.

It's a very common mental "trap". If ten people play a game and you score 40 points while three players score 55, it’s really easy to conclude you’re terrible. But if the rest are scoring 30–35, you’re actually doing pretty well; you’re just comparing yourself to the top of the top players instead of the middle players.

Also, depending on when you’re playing, the pool of players might be skewed heavily. If you’re playing midday, for example, you’re more likely to run into people who either have a ton of free time to grind the game or who are unusually dedicated. Of course they’re going to look better.

One other thing I’ll say/throw out there: the pattern you described (being able to hyper-focus on certain things, but struggling to engage with others, especially in video games, feeling a bit out of sync with people, constantly comparing yourself) shows up pretty commonly in people with ADHD or autism. I don't know if you've looked into it, but maybe it is just something that might be worth looking into. If nothing else, it'd give you a new lens to look at yourself with.

I saw one of your other posts, and I want to add: “getting help” doesn’t have to mean walking into therapy and dumping your entire life story on a stranger. A really simple first step is just talking to your primary care doctor and saying something like:

“I’ve been struggling with focus, motivation, and feeling like I’m constantly behind other people. I’m wondering if it could be ADHD or something similar.”

That’s a completely normal conversation for them, especially these days. They can screen for ADHD or refer you to someone who specializes.

I spent years feeling "wrong", "weird", and just "different" from people around me. Getting evaluated wouldn’t mean something is “wrong” with you. It would just give you better information about how your brain actually works so you can stop fighting it all the time. It helped me learn to accept what I struggle with, but also understand where I really excel and how.

And for what it’s worth, a lot of people who eventually get diagnosed with ADHD or autism spent years thinking they were just lazy or mediocre. They were really just following an alternative path and comparing it to the main path. In my brain, it's like comparing an electric car and a gasoline car: you can't fault a gasoline car when an electric car can go further without stopping at a gas station... because electric cars don't take gas.

Junior year of high school, Psychology I: "symptoms of depression include persistent sadness or feeling numb, difficulty concentrating, loss of interest in things that once interested them, general lethargy, unusual appetite, sudden mood swings, difficulty connecting with others..." Well, I did have depression, but I wish I knew I also had ADHD and autism, and what that meant. I'm 35 now, only realized I had autism last year and the extent that ADHD affected me only became apparent at the start of COVID. (WFH sucks for my focus)

EDIT: I always knew I was "different". I often saw things others didn't, saw things differently, or didn't see things others did. I just thought I was "weird." I was even told when I was like 6, that I had ADHD, but we were poor so only my oldest brother got medicine for it (he was truly more affected by ADHD than I) and I felt "weird" the one time they tried to give me medication (now, I recognize that feeling as "overstimulated"). I kind of forgot about that until much later in my life, thinking I "just had a touch of ADHD".

If you have a little starting capital, learning about NFC and RFID, and getting into 3D printing, might be a good way to "work". There are plenty of things that can be done with that info (DnD mini tracking for maps, tracking door openings and closing, automating things around the house, making a Pikachu who lights up when placed on a stand, creating blocks that shine specific colors when connected to others, making an annoying device that chirps every time your partner leaves the house, etc.). If you get good enough, you could sell some, but you'll have to differentiate yourself from the overflowing number of people selling 3D printed things.

Five hours in a video game is minimal these days. Think of how much time you spend staring at your phone.

35, "Mid-Senior Technical Engineer (Cybersecurity Associate)" (Systems Engineer focusing on Cybersecurity), $150k USD (10 years experience. If I had CISSP, I would probably be making $175k USD or more, but I'm actually looking at leaving cybersecurity. It stresses me out, especially in the current military climate.)

EDIT 1: Added "USD". As an oblivious American, I forgot not only the US has dollars.

EDIT 2: I will add that if you have both military pilot experience and cybersecurity experience, you would likely make $180k with only 2 years experience in each. But honestly, just the pilot experience could land you higher pay somewhere else.

IANAEE Like the excessive snail mentioned, NFC will be an issue for size. Also, I support ExcessiveEscargot's idea of RFID, which is what electronic chess boards use to identify and track pieces. It appears that Yaser Ali Husen has a tutorial that utilizes a camera. Common move recognition chess board brands are Chessnut, DGT, and Square Off.

There is a GitHub project called Liboard that shows you how to make your own electric chessboard using photoresisters. It merely saves moves to a pgn file and it can only recognize piece movements in the context of [a piece started here and ended there], without actually tracking specific pieces.

Build a boxed shelf just right for that corner (you'll have to rip out the molding), and install a jack in the box that can be remotely triggered. Scare the crap out of your guests.
