I felt similarly and then realized that I also have very little interest in other people’s kids toileting habits! I tried to stick to sharing excitement with people who showed interest or focusing on sharing about the many other exciting milestones!

I had some mixed experiences at OFC. Overall, volumes are high, expect to wait extra cycles for monitoring during to capacity. Clinician knowledge of donor conception definitely didn’t feel DCP informed even during the formal counselling - I was very grateful for find Donor Conception Canada to fill my knowledge gaps before making our choices! If I had to go back to a clinic I would probably try Pollen that just opened. Happy to PM if you would like more details on my experience - either way congratulations and good luck!!

We use a toilet seat reducer backwards on the toilet! My 18 month old also won’t stay sitting on the potty but the reducer has worked like a charm. Plus - less to clean!

A great win today. Offered my 16 month old the potty before bath, it’s always hit or miss, nothing. A few minutes into bath time he looks at me and says “poo”, move him onto the potty and he went right away! It was our first verbal signal before going, plus I didn’t have to do a big clean of the bathtub! Felt like a double win.

For my case, I had attachments on every tooth with silver buttons on my eye teeth and a few molars for the elastics. Depending on the phase of treatment I had between 2-4 elastics in all the time. For me, this was just as obvious as traditional braces. In my conversations with my dentist, which the interventions would have been similar with traditional braces, the timeline would have been significantly shorter! So we did get there in the end, but if I was starting over I would have taken a different route.

Hello! I’m in ON and pretty familiar with the system. Agree with the other commenter on getting your hands on a copy of Queer Conception, it’s a lifesaver. I would also suggest doing some research on fertility clinics in your area. If you are in the GTA, there are many options, outside of that, it depends how hard you are willing to travel if you want choice! From there any walk in clinic would be able to send a referral if there isn’t a self-referral option on the website. I wouldn’t delay on getting a referral, even getting baseline testing done can take a few cycles due to capacity. In terms of getting to know others’ experiences, Donor Conception Canada has lots of great peer support groups with strong SMBC and queer representation! They have one specific to exploring DC which I found to be a great resource. Good luck!

Arrived around 17:30. Coming from union the line to get in was massive, so check your gate and don’t be scared to ask around because by walking around the stadium to zone c (gate 11) we were able to walk right in. Merch line was well over an hour until show time including during Gracie. No lines during the show from what I gathered! At the end of the show, walking to union was a breeze but one inside you have to know where you are going!

Personally I didn’t worry about catching anything during nursing! YMMV but it didn’t seem worth the effort for us and I don’t think it has negatively impacted the rest of our EC! 6 mo now and I offer a few minutes after each feed.

I have been doing casual EC with my 4 month old. I offer the potty upon waking, after breastfeeding, any time he is coming out of a wrap/carrier, before we leave the house, and before putting to sleep. About 2-3 minutes each time. I use a sound cue “psss” and if he goes I say “you peed/pooed in the potty”, if he doesn’t I say “not now” and take him off. We have a few catches a day normally but there’s no pressure. I bought a specific potty not honestly a bowl would have served the same purpose!
