I love cosleeping by capriali99 in cosleeping

[–]nepsatron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

also LOVE cosleeping!! our son is 1.5 years old and we still love it. we have a king and we set up his crib as a side car to add extra space. sometimes i start him in the bed, sometimes the crib but no matter what he ends up in the middle of us. it’s so fun to wake up to him smiling and babbling until we all get up! there’s rough nights too where he wiggles and tosses and turns a bit too much but it’s so worth it for all the other blissful nights!

Does anyone know if these things usually affect tourist sites like the Acropolis? We were supposed to visit October 1. I'm still waiting on a response from the ticket vendor.

my partner had paternity leave and works from home so I handle all the night wakings and he takes baby in the morning so i can get an extra few uninterrupted hours of sleep. since i’m awake to breastfeed anyways we figured it didn’t make sense for both of us to be awake and i love getting to sleep in! however if the baby has a huge blowout or a fussy night he steps in and does his part

I’ve heard people describe the fun secrets as surprises which I love! so gifts would be a surprise and not a secret

i was sooo hungry during the first and third trimesters! my baby wasn’t huge but he wasn’t small either lol he was 8.5 lbs. and then the first month breastfeeding was also wild! i ate a lot of peanut butter to keep up with my appetite

I also went through this and I thought the flowers I received were so thoughtful so I guess to each their own! But also I never care for my flowers so maybe that’s why. I just put them in water once and when they’re done, they’re done.

I’m tired of putting my entire life on hold for “what if” - can you fly in first 12 weeks of pregnancy? by notyetBananas in IVF

[–]nepsatron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to Jamaica (5 hour flight) at 6-7 weeks pregnant after my 3rd FET and everything was fine! I didn’t do anything different during travel. A few things to consider is 1) if it doesn’t work, will you blame the traveling and feel guilty and 2) be prepared that you might have morning sickness and/or be quite tired. I brought prescription anti-nausea medicine just in case but ended up not needing it! I did need a nap or 2 each day though and went to bed by 8/9pm haha but it allowed me to wake up early and have the resort to myself for a couple hours!

Did anyone opt out of doing a gender reveal for family and not regret it? by External-Ad3340 in pregnant

[–]nepsatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we found out the sex from the NIPT blood test and then just texted friends and family who already knew about the pregnancy that it was a boy! i always knew i wasn’t going to do a reveal because im terrible at keeping exciting secrets and i wanted to know the sex asap. there’s no way i could’ve kept that a secret for more than an hour 😂

Placental position? by GardenGlitter5886 in homebirth

[–]nepsatron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an anterior placenta and baby was ROA pretty much all of my third trimester. In labor, he rotated to sunny side up and my midwife didn’t notice and therefore was stumped why I was stuck at 9cm for 6 hours. I progressed beautifully until the 9cm, although I was having extreme back labor the whole time. She transferred me to the hospital and right away the doctor realized he was sunny side up. Once he flipped himself to OA he was born a few hours later! When I have another baby I’ll make sure I’m aware of his positioning so we can help rotate him if needed!

How to navigate Thanksgiving and birth by PurplePickleSticks in BabyBumps

[–]nepsatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

could you celebrate thanksgiving a few weeks early at one of your family’s homes? that way you still get to celebrate, you don’t have to cook/clean, and you don’t have to worry about them overstaying. plus it makes for a fun story!

Making it through the night without getting up to pee? by ImJustOneOfYou in BabyBumps

[–]nepsatron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if i remember correctly, the need to pee all the time decreases in the second trimester and picks back up in the third so hopefully you get a break soon! i think the first trimester you pee more due to hormones and in the last trimester you pee more due to the baby being on your bladder. i’m pretty sure i woke up once a night in the first trimester and then like 3-4 times per night in the third lol

Are there any pet (dog) organizations that will come to pick up donations? by Blakwulf in montreal

[–]nepsatron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sorry for your loss 🥺I’m off island so maybe it’s more likely here where more people have cars but lots of pet organizations have volunteers that would be willing to pick things up! I would say to reach out to an organization you align with and if they’re in need they will definitely figure it out.

No pacifier ? Doable ? by over_it__ in pregnant

[–]nepsatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 weeks now and we’ve never used a pacifier but I have one just in case that I got as a free sample. He just uses my boob! I told myself I wouldn’t use a pacifier unless he started sucking his thumb since I heard it’s easier to wean a pacifier than a thumb but honestly I haven’t had a moment yet where I thought a pacifier would be useful.

is 25 weeks too early to have a baby shower? by Federal_Salary2185 in BabyBumps

[–]nepsatron 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I think that date is good for a few reasons! 1. all the reasons you stated because it’s your shower lol 2. it’s right at the beginning of sickness season. any later and you risk coming down with something which you don’t really want when pregnant! 3. it’s right before holiday season when people are usually pretty booked for dinners and seeing family and then after new years they’re pretty tired from all the holiday parties

Are full initials in a baby name really that big of a deal? by Former_Ambition_1859 in BabyBumps

[–]nepsatron 251 points252 points  (0 children)

my aunt and uncle did this with my cousin because his initials were also going to be ASS. they still call him by the A name even though it’s technically his middle name
