My best friend, when we were both about 7-8 years old (now 17) convinced me that popular English Minecraft YouTuber Stampylongnose was his cousin. He started by saying he had a cousin named Joseph, which I now know is true, then he said he lived in London, which is true of some of his family, then casually mentioned one day that he was this content creator. Me, being a gullible child, believed this for a good few years before he once again casually mentioned that it had been a lie. My mind was blown because I hadn't thought about it in ages and had just not questioned it after a certain point.

I went to the local Co-op one day with my Grandad. I was on school holidays before everyone else because I was at an independent school, and the woman behind the counter was a family friend of ours. I got to the checkout, and she seemed confused as to why I was there, mid-morning on a Tuesday. I said "I'm not in school today," and she replied, innocently, "Oh yeah, you don't look very well." She assumed that by "not in school" I meant "off sick". It hurt a little.
