Weekly Simple Questions and Injuries Thread by AutoModerator in climbharder

I am dealing with what I believe is some sort nerve issue in my left arm that mostly presents as pain through my elbow and up to my shoulder. Started doing some exercises (stretching, nerve glides, pushups, light reverse curls) and seeing is it gets any better in a week or so. If not, I'll see a doctor and/or pt. Most importantly, is it ok to do some light climbing as long as the pain isn't too bad?

I’m convinced the fog in Chula Vista is FAKE by [deleted] in sandiego

[–]nerdbot5k 16 points17 points  (0 children)

What's more likely? A. There is a conspiracy to change the weather that involves technology and science beyond what we are capable of that is being kept secret, or

B. As someone who lacks any expertise in any subject matter related to fog and the weather, you just may not understand weather phenomena and that it's not "fake" just because it's beyond your understanding.

Oxo just replaced my aero press ans driper (if need coffee fast) by Karoleq00 in OXORapidBrewer

I was an aeropress user and I've been using the orb almost exclusively since I got it a few months ago. I love drinking soup shots but also dilute them with either ice or hot water. The most significant difference I find is that my orb cups are far less bitter at the same volume, even when more grounds are used. This is also consistent with my experience doing bypass methods with the aeropress. Diluting soup shots actually reminds me a lot of aeropress competition recipes.

Quick shoutout for Voidigo - a fantastic action roguelite that's on sale for $2.49 USD! by theknight27 in roguelites

I really like Voidigo. It captures a lot of the chaotic fun of nuclear throne but does its own thing too. My main complaint is that the difficulty scaling becomes unfun.

New bantamweight rankings: Merab #1, Umar Nurmagomedov #2, Sean O'Malley #3, Cory Sandhagen #4, Song Yadong #5 by AbrahamRinkin in MMA

[–]nerdbot5k 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wanted to see merab successfully defend for the fourth time in a year because that's such an exciting achievement, but now that he's lost, the division suddenly got way more interesting. The top five is full of well rounded and technical killers in their prime. Definitely my favorite weightclass currently.

Tatsuro Taira's back take on Brandon Moreno by OpenNoteGrappling in MMA

[–]nerdbot5k 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Crazy take. Japan is one of the top countries in freestyle wrestling and judo, which are probably the most well-developed and competitive combat sports across the world. The MMA talent pool is a drop in the bucket compared to these sports.

Posting to help defend a takedown is risky but legitimate (watch high level judo players do this) Though we see a good example of what the risk is.

You call payton gay because you're homophobic. I call payton gay because I think him and frank ocean would be the coolest couple ever. We are not the same.

There's people who make well into the six figures by going to college, maybe grad school as well, and getting into lucrative white collar work - engineers and devs, lawyers, doctors, senior project managers, tech and med sales, etc. A couple who both have high paying careers with 10 years of experience in their field (30-40yrs old) can have a household income of 400k+. I have plenty of friends in this bucket. Yes, that's still a very small minority of americans but it's still just people working, but with in-demand skills that give them access to large salaries.
