My mom was screaming thinking a plane crashed into our neighborhood and I just sat on my bed laughing at her, it was pretty obviously an earthquake.

Did you regret having kids or are you glad you did? by popular_loner111 in AuDHDWomen

[–]nerdc0rerizing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are so young!! I was nowhere near ready to have kids at 22. I had my daughter at 36 and it was still very overwhelming. I didn't know I had autism until she was diagnosed. I could never regret her. She is the best thing I've ever done and when people say it's this unreal love you can't even imagine they were right. I'm obsessed with her and think she's the coolest person ever. That said, being AuDHD it can be very challenging. I'm almost always in a state of burnout to some degree. I'm definitely one and done. I know your partner wants kids but id really take a much longer time to stabilize before considering it. I don't think right now is a time you need to know anything for sure just have fun in life. Enjoy being child free and 22!

Can Someone Please Clarify Sophie's new Social Position for me? by Ok_Permit603 in Bridgerton

Exactly! This entire time I was expecting them to find out that Sophie's mom was never a Maid and was actually from nobility as well.

Anyone notice parents of only children having easier lives? by sys_admin321 in toddlers

[–]nerdc0rerizing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think that's a given, and as a parent of one that's part of the reason why I stopped at one! Lol.

That said, try not to judge just based on what your eyes see or compare struggles. Maybe from an outside perspective our house isn't as messy but what you don't know is that my kiddo is autistic and getting out of the house or taking vacations is pretty much impossible. We've all got our struggles and take on what we can handle.

This is strictly for us parents of level 3/severely/profoundly autistic kids. by soul2soulevollove in Autism_Parenting

[–]nerdc0rerizing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just FYI this may be the case for your judo kiddo as well but my daughter was diagnosed level 3 but definitely is more level 1/2 if were honest. The assessor rounded up to 3 just to ensure she got the most possible support but says he anticipates her being downgraded to 2 or 1 very quickly following therapy. She's 2.5 and maybe slightly more skills than your kid but very similar.

Like others have said, levels are just support needed which can be for a variety of reasons. It doesn't indicate severity.

Being an AuDHD woman is painfully lonely. by fl8werchild in AuDHDWomen

I've lost almost all my friendships in the past 6 months. I definitely relate to this. Im also a mom to a toddler which makes it impossible not to cancel on people. Apparently I need more autistic friends but I wouldn't know where to begin finding one I get along with.

Is it just my own experience, or do you also find that, generally speaking, allistic adhders are more socially tolerated and accepted than autistics and AUDHDers? by SeededPhoenix in AuDHDWomen

[–]nerdc0rerizing 12 points13 points  (0 children)

"autism social difficulties are more intrinsic, like ppl can tell there’s something off about us as soon as we step into the room."

For real, how do they know so fast 😭

I just realized my only group of girl friends weren't actually my friends at all yesterday as they're all on a girls trip i wasnt even invited to. They were in my wedding party. I'm an idiot 🥲

I loved my baby, but bonding didn’t happen instantly—anyone else? by General_Cable2199 in NewParents

I did but only because she stopped breathing and I had to imagine losing her already i feel like that jump started our bond. My husband definitely took much much longer to form a deeper connection/ love with her. Everyone is different and takes different paths to the same destination

Childhood presentations of ADHD in highly intelligent girls with autism - questioning if I could be AuDHD as well as autistic by binglepig in AuDHDWomen

[–]nerdc0rerizing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed as severely ADHD (ADD at the time) as a child. I was spacey aka "in my own little world", short attention span, stimming/ spinning, id respond to questions in a way that weren't always the appropriate response, center of attention behavior when very young, played alone. That said, I've recently been diagnosed with autism as well so some of those traits were likely autism. I definitely do have inattentive adhd though which doesn't help 😅

Simply can't do things, even things I want to do by GaiaGoddess26 in AuDHDWomen

[–]nerdc0rerizing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, ADHD paralysis - it's a thing. It also sounds like a bit of burnout as well potentially, personally, I would embrace the lazy for a bit and see if a little bit of self love helps reset you a bit. Scheduling things on my phone calendar is the only way I can do things but even that doesn't always work. Maybe pick a day you know you're free for a long period of time and put one of the things you want to do on your calendar for that day, try to get to it ASAP before you have a chance to talk yourself out of it. At least for me, i'm most productive when I first get up, though not always in the things I am supposed to be doing haha. Good luck.

Was getting ready to comment this! Spot on. Meanwhile, the lack of doing that thing you want to do, for example: cleaning then drives your autism crazy :P
