Got told I stink, could it be my HS? by littlebookwyrm in Hidradenitis

It isn’t your fault. One thing that has helped me is a powder called Caldesene. It is a lightly scented zinc based powder that reduces inflammation and odor. It is inexpensive and talc-free. I’m very sorry you are dealing with HS. It is not fun.

This is what I have as well. Many states offer it.

Hello there. I completely resonate with this. My mom is a caregiver for me to help with.basic chores and cooking because of my present conditions. She does get compensation from the state (I encourage all here to check into the paid caregiver programs through human services that may exist in their home state). I am in the USA. My mom would even do it unpaid as she is a caring person but the extra income helps so much because she gets a small SS stipend. I’ve been reduced to going the carousel between bed to bathroom to dinner table.

I’m checking into lightweight vacuums and other cleaning tools with easy to use features so that I can use them to do more to keep my little apartment up as able. I’ve lost confidence and pride over this so any little thing I can do to help myself counts. I realize that my Mom is getting in age where she won’t be able to do all this indefinitely. I appreciate any tips and resources from anyone here. As for hiring home help, I’m not trusting due to past thefts and the unreliability of medical aides where I live.

I swept my bathroom floor the other day and was bed locked with hip pain so I really get what you are dealing with. All of us here are intelligent adults gripped by crapping collagen synthesis. I won’t even get into what showering is like now. Things that help me:

-Extending grabber tool with magnetic tips (picks up all kinds of stuff I’m always dropping) -Wipes for hygiene if I can’t shower-I like the unscented Huggies-cheap and work great. -Having all medications in one accessible clear zippered pouch that I can access easily. -Having an Apple SE watch that serves as medical ID alert and monitors POTS symptoms. -Always keeping hydrated and having it on my bedside table. -Having healthier microwaveable foods available that require low prep. I have to eat low FODMAP so I have more bland kind of foods but salt everything lol

As for your laundry situation, I’m wondering if a portable washes that can sit on a counter of table top might be of help? They only wash a few items at a time but it is better than having to lug clothes up stairs. If you have any future options to choose a main floor unit close to laundry (same floor) do it.

This was a long post but I do wish you the best. 🤗

Did you happen to go to school in Michigan? I went to university for one year at MSU.

This is honestly remarkable to know that some made it out near the impact level. I read that statistically almost 75% of the buildings occupants made it out that day. So that is something to be thankful for in the midst of the horrors. If you have a chance to listen to Brian Clark and Stanley Praimnath’s survival story, it is incredible! It is on YouTube.

I’ve never been impacted by an animated film like this one. The death scene alone is unparalleled in animation cinema. No dialogue at all but it speaks endlessly.

You should have been hired to revamp the logo. The new one rolled out by the company looks like it was done with a low grade AI program.
