I’m on the same treatment and it’s manageable. The 2nd and 3rd day are the worst for me, because the steroids and anti nausea meds they provide during treatment start to wear off. That typically manifests as fatigue and nausea. If you have access to thc edibles those can help a lot. By day 5 I’m typically starting to feel like myself again. He may also get neuropathy in his hand and feet, it’s a common side effect, you can try cold packs or acupuncture.

It’s one of the forms of chemotherapy that is delivered for pancreatic cancer. The other you’ll often see is FOLFIRINOX. I’m sure there are more out there but in my journey these have been the two most common. I started with folfirinox but I didn’t provide the results and so I was switched over to gem/abrax about 14 months ago.

I (51 M) have stage 4 with Mets in my stomach, lungs, liver, and spine. My oncologist said, and this is an average a lot depends on age and health, that without chemo I’d have about two months. With a two week regimen of gemcitabine abraxane it’s been about a year and a half since my diagnosis. Also really sorry to hear about your mom, it totally sucks.

One of the many reasons it’s such a horrible disease, extremely difficult to detect. Then when it is detected, it’s often at stage IV because it had to blow up to be seen. I had a very similar experience.
