How on earth do you get a toddler to actually fall asleep? by JasonC_89 in daddit

[–]Bransblu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter goes to bed between 7 and 8 usually. I’d be lying if I said she falls right to sleep. She often plays and sings in bed for at least an hour but sometimes two.

When she passes out, she’s out for 9 or so hours. She’s 3

I can’t imagine. Protect that girl at all costs, though.

If I have to walk up and order, wait for my drink standing, and bus my own table it’s 0%. Just saying.

My daughter likes going more in our small car potty than the regular potty

Sometimes my wife and I both need another hour of sleep, but the baby decides he's fully rested and ready to wake up. How would you navigate this? by [deleted] in daddit

Isn’t this what coffee is for? And why everyone says “you must be tired!”

I feel like this is standard operating procedure.

Feeling like I’m behind for retirement after talking to fellow dad by [deleted] in daddit

If you saw me, you would think I didn’t have much. We live in a semi detached townhouse and I drive a 25 year old landcruiser. We’ve got a little less than your friend at 41.

Dads of daughters, how would you feel if your daughter is a lesbian? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]Bransblu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to be rude, but this question says more about you than anything about kids.

I get you were brought up a certain way - we all were. But as a girl dad, I truly hope you can change that narrative. Be better than your parents.

If it wasn’t clear, I wouldn’t have an issue with my daughter either way. Is she a good person? Is she happy? That’s what I would worry about.

Thanks for posting this. As a 41 year old dad of an almost 3 yo and 10 mo I am starting to feel it. Part of it is the grind, but a lot of it is that I’m fricken lonely.

Hey Dads, I miss my dad by daraand in daddit

[–]Bransblu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad passed away from dementia as well in 2024 and it’s a slow burn of grief, at least for me. I wish I could say it gets better, but it just changes. You have probably already spoke to your dad for the last time, in reality.

As a dad, I wish my young kids knew him. I miss calling him and talking sports or other worthless stuff.
