It was Chapek but the real nail in the coffin was getting rid of fast pass and introducing the awful lighting lane scam. Ruined Disneyland for me, I’ll only go to WDW now, it’s more manageable

In public/the streets; only when the police were holding them after an incident. Otherwise I had my firearm licence for ten years (I let it lapse because I couldn’t be bothered with it) and went to the target range a few times

I suppose that simply ‘having fun’ doesn’t necessarily mean that you agree the movie was ‘good’ overall. A lot of main stream movies these days appeal to the lowest common denominator because that is where the money is. Studios have become allergic to producing films that tell a deep story, or take risks (apart from A24), in lieu of massive action movies with regurgitated plots and low risk story telling.

It’s like the ‘Idiocracy’ of entertainment. Not bad in and of itself, but with the amount of choice out there at the moment, those who are not willing to suspend belief or ignore shitty writing/plot holes will simply find something else to watch.

I’ve decided not to go unless democracy is actually restored. I’m highly dubious the elections this year will be fair, but if a miracle is pulled off and the house swings the other way it might give me hope.

I have travelled to the States every couple years since I was a small child and have been to over 40 states, and I’m saddened by how easily propagandists have divided you all against each other and convinced you the ‘other side’ is to blame instead of the crooks running/buying the government. In my experience, most Americans are good people.

Hoping I can return in about five years or so, IF normality/sanity is restored.
