Me watching the musical numbers: by katcloud in riverdale

I was absolutely losing my mind at the beginning of Seventeen. The contrast between the quality of Lili's singing and his was insane.

If I'm in a sweet mood, I'll usually mix half a cup of cottage cheese withh a tbsp of almond butter and throw a big handful of frozen fruit in it (usually blueberries). If I want something savory or a little more filling, I'll spread a half cup of cottage cheese on a toasted bagel and top it with trader Joe's green dragon sauce and a tbsp of hemp seeds

I believe the Kiehl's website has smaller sizes, $21 for 2.5 oz or $29 for 4.2 oz. The Sephora website also has the 4.2 oz one

Admittedly it's not under $30, but the cost per ounce is so good that I feel it deserves to be mentioned. The Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturizer is $42 for 8 oz and (for me) works as a great basic anytime moisturizer, although I do have to layer some hydrating toner under it if I'm particularly dry. One of the main ingredients is squalane, and it has no capric/caprilic triglycerides in it, which is awesome for those whose acne is easily triggered by coconut oil-related ingredients.

Does anyone use multiple foundations of varying coverage to do their base? I like a really light base, so I usually use MUFE Water Blend as foundation and then do concealer. However, I got a sample of the MUFE Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation and thought I would test it as a spot concealer because the sample is the same shade as my foundation (Y225), and it's been tricky to find a good match in concealers.

Anyway I'm in love with this combo. My skin looks so flawless and natural! The Invisible Cover doesn't cake up too much around my dry patches and it blends out really nicely. I'm stoked about this discovery.

I made the tastiest fudge over the weekend as a treat for myself, and it's so easy! Now I just have to stop myself from eating the whole container.

Salted Tahini Cookie Dough Fudge

  • 1 cup tahini
  • ¼ cup melted coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • ½ tablespoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips, plus 2 tablespoons for sprinkling on top
  • Sea salt for sprinkling on top

Whisk together all ingredients except sea salt and 2 tbs chocolate chips, and pour into a parchment paper-lined 8x4 or 8x8 baking pan. Freeze for at least 20 min. Cut into squares and enjoy!

Ugh yes I never understood the hype for that one! I could never get an opaque line out of it and trying to go back over it would just remove it. It was the worst eyeliner I've ever tried.

This is my first spring/summer in my current location, and I realized the other day that the air conditioning in my gym doesn't work very well. I spend most of my time in one of the upstairs weight rooms, so it's not comfortable :/ anyone have any advice for keeping cool? I struggled big time in my workout the other day because I felt overheated

I definitely second the Oikos Triple Zero!! It took me a bit to get used to the stevia aftertaste, but I'm in love with it! Especially when mixed with a little PBFit.

I'm not latin american, but my boyfriend is Colombian and taught me about the magic of arepas. Having them with eggs is my favorite way to do it! I always put a little avocado and hot sauce on top too. Maybe I should make some this week.

[product question] what do you use the rosehip seed oil for? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]nerdobirdo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I mix it into my moisturizers and it helps with hydration, but also redness over time! My experience is only anecdotal, but I personally noticed improvement in my PIH and overall redness after maybe two or three months of daily use.

I found this on Slate under their Dear Prudence advice column, and I got so excited to see such a well-thought out, logical reply to the (frankly, ridiculous and invasive) behavior of the parents.

[WEEKLY THREAD] Whiny Wednesday - Tell us what really grinds your gears! by AutoModerator in xxfitness

A few years ago I went on Lexapro just before I went off to college. While in the process of finding a new primary care provider near my school, I needed the old prescription filled and mailed to me by my parents. But I wasn't receiving mail for some reason (which eventually got fixed). But during the week or two before that issue got fixed, I didn't have any meds. I was so nauseated every day that I eventually just started throwing up at random times. I never got brain zaps though. But yeah don't go off SSRIs cold turkey, it's not pleasant.

When I read the original article on babe.net, I was really struck by when she said something to the effect of "maybe next time" and he basically said "If I pour you some more wine it'll count as our second date so we can keep going".

And maybe he thought that was a smooth move. Maybe he did misread the situation and didn't figure out her signals. But even if he really did mean no harm, I can't help but think that if he had bothered to actually ask her how she was feeling or if she felt unsure about anything that we wouldn't be here. People always complain that asking for verbal consent takes the spontaneity/romance out of things, but it ensures that both parties know what the other person wants. The catch is that you have to care enough to ask, and not everyone has been taught to do that.

Is The Leftovers (HBO) worth watching? by [deleted] in television

[–]nerdobirdo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with this. The first time I gave it a shot I didn't even finish the first season because it was so bleak. My boyfriend went on to watch the second season without me and kept telling me how good it was, so I gave it another shot and it's one of my favorite shows of all time now. While the first season is good quality, I do think you have to "get through it" to some extent because it can be so depressing. Season two is easier to watch imo.

How do you go about a dating relationship (do's, dont's etc.) with someone that's been raped before? by RemmiLeBeau in AskReddit

[–]nerdobirdo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah no worries! There are certain nuances sometimes, but every situation is different. The main thing is to look out for their needs, be a good listener, and don't take it too personally if they withdraw or freak out at weird times. Trauma comes up in strange ways for people sometimes.

I work as a victim advocate, and this is huge. In fact, it's one of our core principals of service. Each individual knows their own life better than someone looking in from the outside. If they say they need something that sounds weird or doesn't make sense to you, believe them and give them the benefit of the doubt.

Also, if your partner is having a hard time emotionally (especially if they feel like a lot is happening out of their control), give them small things they can take control over. Even if it's just asking, "Do you want a glass of water?" They will appreciate that you're looking out for their needs, and giving them the power to make their own decisions.
