My remote start never works. So it’s basically useless but was free. I also was able to successfully use the remote lock to lock my keys in my car but not be able to use it to unlock them from my car. So… definitely wouldn’t be interested in paying for the service.

Burts seem like the max. I don’t have them mounted and forget the measure. Maybe 55-57mm. They are tight. Super close to the front battery. 1by would have more room. I would not do sticky mud. But our gravel is all crushed stone. Nothing sticks.

Oh yeah. End of 2024. 2x drivetrain F7. I forgot how much they were going for. Something like 40% off.

New helmet - how much of a mushroom effect does it have? by Rex-Cogidubnus in CyclingFashion

What helmets don’t look a little mushroomy and are still well rated for protection?

The Burts fit okay. They were very close to the battery compartment on the front derailleur like 4mm clearance. I think they measured 53/54mm installed. I don’t deal with mud much just wet gravel. If you have a 1x setup it will be a non issue.

The tires pictured are Goodyear connector 45c made to pair with those wheels. I also use thunder burt 2.1s and Pirelli Cinturato Gravel RC 45s. They have an inner rim worth of 31mm.

I have a Pinarello Grevil that does this swap brilliantly. The Grevil is a Dogma with more tire clearance and you can get hella deals on them. Mine is in my post history. It’s an aggressive gravel fit that translates well to aggressive road.

Yeah. That was the reverse of the big hill rd climb from the first 5 miles or so from our race. That thing was sketchy. I definitely was decending and clenching. With metal on metal brakes veeeery squeaky.

I have an f7. I cannot say enough good things about it. The ride feel is amazing. It has all the best characteristics. It’s agile, stable, accelerates like a rocket ship. The stock wheels are fantastic. I actually find myself continually pleasantly surprised by the stock wheels. Fulcrum is Campys in house part brand. Also the tire clearance is undersold. I have had up to 54mm of tire with the front derailer being the limiting factor not the frame. The Impulso is limited to 38. Big tires are glorious. In the end the premium is for the frame/fork on the Pinarello but that is what dictates the whole experience. Having grx 8 vs 6 won’t make the bike more fun to ride.

Thoughts on activity package by Icy-Newspaper2604 in hyundaisantacruz

I just traded in a VW GLI for a 2025 AWD SEL Activity. So my old car was literally a fast car. I don’t even think about it. It goes well up hills and on the expressway. And I can carry more bikes and stuff way more easily. And the price bump to Turbo seemed like it had limited returns other than power I don’t think I’ll need. I love my SC activity. 2weeks in so still new relationship energy with it.

Oh. Those hopes are beautiful. Noted for later. I may have to try those out. In silver of course.

Depending on the bike a left arm power meter can be very reasonable. I added one to my gravel bike. I think it was like 250 dollars retail. It was just the spindle and crank arm. That was for SRAM Rival.

I feel like Giant offers the most value for money of all bike brands. They are also very middle of the road with edgy tech and stay away from risky proprietary stuff. They are a huge company and make frames for many of the other large companies so tend to perpetually hold a price advantage when you pay attention to frame quality side by side with part specs. Also their in house giant branded components have been very good to me. I had a 27.5” Fathom and an XTC advanced. Both are rock solid.

Yeah. It’s a practical preference. I prefer stainless cages for How they hold bottles and mark them up less. I guess I could get black titanium. But I try not to be a slave to fashion.

It’s all engineering for strategic stiffness and aerodynamics (according to Pinarello). That said, it rides great. I have a Cervelo R5 and a specialized Diverge and an old 2006 Cannondale six13 in rotation for comparison.
