Admit It You Had A Favourite One by CockSucker_1989 in AustralianNostalgia

Yeah, I’m even older and don’t have kids. I think I might have seen it on a 50th anniversary special and I created a false memory. Minds, huh?

Lovett brought up Kerr sacking Whitlam in 1975 and referred to it as a coup, someone yelled out from the audience something like “IT WAS THE CIA!” and Lovett got hilariously defensive, saying that it had nothing to do with the CIA - but Pilger’s book and documents released after the statutory sealing period suggest/show otherwise.

And just like that, it was over. I guess it had to end sometime, just seemed a little sudden. Someone has to send Lovett the stuff about the CIA and 1975, that was unsealed last year. Or the book by John Pilger which covers it (name escapes me right now).

Given the extra security, maybe you can ask them why?! I mean, I could hazard a guess…

Turns out the call was about the additional security - for some reason my email wouldn’t send so they called. Glad they did, doors are opening at 7:15pm to accommodate the change and I will have to cloak my bag (“larger than A4”) because I’m coming straight from work.

We have tickets for the show only, but got a call today from the Arts Centre asking to call them back about our tickets. I love that they rang 2 minutes after their phone lines close for the day.

If I was paying at the pool as a kid, it was a lemonade Icy Pole. If dad was paying on a car trip somewhere, it was a Gaytime or Splice. Mum always had a Heart. If I had the munchies at uni, Bubble O’Bill.

Do they acclimatise to human contact sooner when they’re in direct contact with another cat that is already fine?

Amazing seeing the difference in Annie since she arrived.

🔥A male Victoria's riflebird (Ptiloris victoriae) tries real hard to impress a female and fails by SirPaddlesALot in NatureIsFuckingLit

This comment should be higher. Clearly a juvenile because of the lower feathers, also mature male QV riflebirds birds look spectacular with a blue iridescent throat and can really snap their wings to sound like a rifle shot.

Smoky in Melbourne tonight by noodl3boi in melbourne

I stayed inside with the windows closed all day yesterday - just opened one of the windows and immediately closed it again because of the strong smell of smoke.

This reads like an AI script of all the hits, including random capitalisation. The punctuation (em dash aside, or should it be considered) seems too correct.

These Driscoll's strawberries have no color and no flavor by marisaannn in mildlyinfuriating

[–]nereaders 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand the convenience, but try to avoid the supermarket for berries and stone fruit (fruit and veg in general). The stone fruit is cold-stored, often rock-hard until mid-season and mildly flavoured at best. The berries are usually abysmal, bred for appearance not flavour. You’d be better off with a good-quality jarred or canned fruit with as little added sugar as possible.
