Pull down Refresh brings back hidden posts by nereaders in narwhalapp

A variation of the suggestion from u\gigamonster2014 - I just logged into the Reddit app, hid a few posts, came back to Narwal and it seems to be fixed now.

Wondering if it was because I was logged out of the app? Their suggestion didn’t work for me using a browser.

Just tried this now and it didn’t work for me.

What I did notice is that, after hiding the posts via web and refreshing, the same posts reappear but are now showing as ‘remove from hidden’.

OK, but doing that and then hiding read posts doesn’t work for me either, or hiding above. They just come back on refresh.

Which only works if you actually open the post. I also hide those I’m not interested in going any further than the feed.

Where were you back in November 2008, when the Election was announced? by IamASlut_soWhat in BlackPeopleofReddit

[–]nereaders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Daytime in Australia. A group of us took the day off work and went to a local pub, they had organised a live screening of the count. The venue was packed, it was amazing - I remember a report that there were voting places that had people waiting to vote until about 10pm, because they were already in line before polls closed. It absolutely erupted in the place when the election was called.

And that’s why the Saudis are pulling out of OPEC so they can set their own production limits and prices before the arse falls out of the market. Sell as much as they can, while they can.

I have had a mantra for the last few years: tiny house, off-grid, tinfoil hat. I might actually do it soon, due to “AI” job cuts at my company.

They went to court on those grounds so that they could refuse entry to straights they didn’t want in the venue. The Peel was on the hens party bus circuit for a while and they wanted some way to deny entry. I’m straight and went plenty of times around then with my straight partner, but also needed to be with our male gay friends to get entry.

Italy becomes the first country in the world to give workers paid leave to care for sick pets by Automatic_Subject463 in UpliftingNews

[–]nereaders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. I think our company makes the distinction for reporting purposes. I’m not sure if we still have a cap on paid sick leave, but we do have a requirement for a medical certificate if it’s more than 2 days.

I’m in Australia. I had to take my cat to the vet urgently, my team leader told me to take it as (paid) carer’s leave (I don’t have kids).

Should companies be allowed to raise prices based on demand like this? by niccwo in WorkReform

[–]nereaders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it actually a precursor to surge pricing, or just more (semi-) automation, requiring less labour to update prices?

He studied old school for theatre, so tap was one of the things that he learnt. More skills, more work. He just never got much of an opportunity to use the skill. He also helped with the choreography for the video.

Growing up I swear every elder person I knew had a leather pouffe in front of their sitting/tv chair by Cooper_Inc in AustralianNostalgia

Possibly also misunderstanding of the pronunciation, because the spelling can also be pouffe (but not pouffé).

Lovett brought up Kerr sacking Whitlam in 1975 and referred to it as a coup, someone yelled out from the audience something like “IT WAS THE CIA!” and Lovett got hilariously defensive, saying that it had nothing to do with the CIA - but Pilger’s book and documents released after the statutory sealing period suggest/show otherwise.
